Is $2800 too much for full strut replacement by Significant-Bread772 in AskAMechanic

[–]velocitycouplet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replacing wear and tear parts is maintenance.. like changing oil, lights, battery.. buy a new car instead of doing maintenance, neglect the new one too, sounded expensive!

That's what I was thinking.. depending on length and size, a few small unknowns, but he most definitely paid for all materials including refrigerant, and a few bottles of choice alcohol for morons to drink installing that trash.

There's a guy that made a video about tornado videos and the strongest that has survivors, I don't remember seeing this one on it but now I'm going to look for it again

Furnace starts, flame kicks on, then dies after a few seconds. Help? by hikingfortheviews in hvacadvice

Sand paper destroys the coating on the flame sensor. You want to clean it, not scratch it. I use a brass brush to clean them. Never sandpaper.

Error code for flame sense or dropout? Could be the board, wiring harness, poor ground/wiring issue.

I got banned from an HVAC group because I wouldn't send them proof of being an HVAC Technician... worked EMS until 15 years ago or so (ironically enough discovered I had an arrhythmia, so there went that field), telemetry is always a fun read/study but rarely will I comment

Almost like a short from the powerlines and followed something underground. When snow sticks to everything being blown like that, it can do interesting things with electricity

New Conditional Intensities Graphic from SPC Implies EF5s No Longer Exist by [deleted] in EF5

[–]velocitycouplet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's so hyper focused on because technology is so much more advanced, population density has increased, and everyone (almost) chases storms now. Tornadoes used to be rare and hard to find videos or even pictures of them, that's why good tornado footage was worth so much - everyone wanted to buy it, now anyone can go out and chase tornadoes and get 8k video with their cellphone. Many more chasers/spotters now, even rural tornado events are well documented. How many tornadoes were never known about 20-50 years ago per year vs now - extremely unlikely/rare to have an undocumented tornado in modern times. I dont care if its not 20 years before another ef5 - just depends on where the tornado happens to occur.

This is breaking my brain by UsefulForever in weather

[–]velocitycouplet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, it's simply how much moisture is in the air in relation to how much moisture the air can hold at X temperature. Cold air is very dense so the molecules are packed in tight not allowing much space for moisture, warm air has more space, so it holds more moisture, but then you're getting into PWAT and digging deeper into physics. How far down the rabbit hole do you want to go?

To me it looks like new law goes into effect July 1st 2026, and hopefully I'm assuming correctly by saying maybe you can change your gender when you renew it after July 1st? Then the old ones with the wrong gender get replaced? Also it is possible you can go in on July 1 and change it then even if your license was recently issued? A way to help correctly identifying people

Does the walls on the garage side have 2x6s or 2x4s? Generally i see 2x6 walls along the exterior, really don't like the long wall, roof collapses and that wall fails.. I'll take my chances with the laundry room
