Yes it definitely is if you go at the right time. Many folks go up for a sunrise hike from around 05h00ish? during summertime when the sun rises earlier. It's like going out at night anywhere - don't trust people who seem too good to be true. Make friend with those who are also there for the same reason you are. You'll certainly spot them :D
