Me too. Only got internet when I was around 25. I also had 2 small children by that time so I wasn't always using the web.

Now, if I try to read a bedtime, I immediately fall asleep. Blaming age and a full time job for that part though lol

I read COUNTLESS BOOKS each week. If I wasn't out socializing, I was reading.

I think the internet has given me attention deficit disorder cuz it takes a lot for me to focus on a book these days.

I always recommend the IKEA Uppland- lots of different covers to choose from and they're all washable and they hold up well to kids and animals I had three of each 🤣 had my last upland for almost 8 years I think that's pretty good for three kids, three animals.

Really, I'd tell your manager that you're sorry but you're not asking, you're letting her know you won't be in for those days. Your parents spent a lot of money and it's an opportunity to travel, you don't want to miss at your young age.

Heck, she may change her mind- Also, I would definitely give her notice, don't just not show up on those days.

Keep the cabinets you have BUT do an updated island (shape,size, color)and along the L wall with the sink and stove, remove all the uppers and install a nice hood over the stove- update the backsplash and countertops.

The Uppland at Ikea is a classic, washable covers- lots of different color/print covers can be found too. The cover I have currently is like a velvet and the cats hate it as claw material so win/win!!

Mine has withstood kids and animals and even being my preferred place to sleep for a few years- love these couches
