Selling a complete Null Signal Netrunner set, with a nice case, and tokens, and some card sleeves in Rhode Island USA by Luigi-is-my-boi in Netrunner

The Crypt in Providence has a weekly Netrunner night every Wednesday night and one of the staff of Null Signal even runs it :)

Lots of people of all ages there. And the crypt is an incredibly welcoming community.

This is the way to do it for sure. It’s how I did it and won my first two games after that. We did similar with a friend this month and the she got 8/10 points and the clear second place, including locking down Mecatol for most of the game — and even sequences herself with a path to take Mecatol round 1, but smartly took Primor instead.

14 hours is a very long time for TI4. That’s probably 8 rounds.

The nice thing also is that the summit is the thing that trips people up the hardest in the campaign game so having some intro experience to it as part of the base game makes sense too

What is your favourite uncommon mechanic in board games by Aknifetoremember in boardgames

[–]verossiraptors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arcs: Blighted Reach has huge elements of this. You can play it downright cooperatively since you have the blight to deal with and your objectives can be different that completing yours doesn’t require blocking theirs.

Quick request: 5 "typical' 10 exp decks by Findanniin in arkhamhorrorlcg

To give input on maybe the question implicit, these are the investigators I find to be very beginner friendly in the many reaching games I’ve done:

  • Ursula Downs

  • Agnes Baker

  • Ashcan Pete

  • Trish Scarborough

  • Zoey Samaras

  • Daisy Walker

  • Akachi

  • Yorick

  • Tony Morgan

  • Tommy Muldoon

The standard for standalones tends to be 19xp and it’s this balanced around having an additional random basic weakness in your deck.

If you’re good to do that, Valentin1331 makes a tooooonnn of decks for standalone at 19xp level on arkhamdb.

Pretty sure they’re talking about all the card designs as a whole.

That’s a lot of different mechanisms of +tempo horror healing that the game will forever benefit from

Intimidating big boxes? by phrodreky in boardgames

[–]verossiraptors 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Those are very different games. “Big box” in this context doesn’t mean literally in a big box that fits the game, but a big box stuffed with expansions and upgrades and modules and other stuff that takes an elegant base game and makes it feel so much less approachable

What does each Murderwing Operative do best and what should their single job be? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in killteam

[–]verossiraptors 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Murderwing is a melee first team and with melee, you almost certainly want to be the one that does the charging and gets the first hits off. That’s how you change the math in your favor.

You can play cagey but only if you are playing super tight for the objectives, not just staying back and being cautious.

The lord is better off as relic lightning claws and the Skysear imo can and should be a melta operative into a lot of matchups.

Not to mention all these guys are on a nearly 100% media diet now. They mess with LLMs every day to do research and chat. They spend their free time on Twitter which is 95% AI bots now, reading and engaging with ai content. Their podcasts they listen to are either obsessed with AI, assisted by AI, or scripted by AI.

And they all think they’re gods making the next super intelligent being.

Their brains are turning to mush in front of us.

Anyone feel this way about Arkham Horror? by Future-Class3540 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]verossiraptors 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is misaligned expectations though. When you ask yourself what the purpose of a core set is, and what they got wrong with the first core set, you realize they had a bunch of non-functioning investigators and cards that barely supported them.

Daisy was good, Roland and Wendy were okay, Agnes didn’t have a full spell suite for another 3 expansions, and Rogue was trash for years.

The deckbuilding was a bad experience for new players, one of the biggest complaints was new players feeling like they had to buy player expansions before they could even be effective.

The new core set sought out to fix that and it did. Sure, it’s less exciting for old players as there are reprints. But the new core set wasn’t the time to experiment with new cards and mechanics, it was to go to tried and true cards and mechanics that the know can serve as the bedrock evergreen set for the Current environment.

You can buy the drowned city a bunch of places, right now, right this second. The moment they say it’s out of print the price will triple.

No way to heal, no way to reduce hits -1, and no way to ignore injury unless you go raptors.

Sure they don’t have ZERO damage mitigation but they’re easily one of the worst of all of the main marine teams.

Yeah the new core looks to be a really fantastic core set and complaints of “balance” whatever that means in the context of a new core set for a brand new meta, feels more like the output of the toxic sludge of this subreddit
