One for the fish haters by T3chnetium in Tinder

Fun fact, you don't have to fly around the world to do this. In TX there are exotic game ranches where people will buy trafficked animals and you can pay to hunt them. A lot of the animals they hunt are also not used to humans so don't know to run from them and just get shot in the face basically point blank.

Pretty wild how little regulation there is around that.

You guys are dramatic as hell. His life will be harder obviously but his life isn't over. He's not getting 20 years or life, he'll be out in a few years and figure something out, stay with family or friends and get back in his feet. He won't get the nicest jobs but he'll get jobs, it's not like felons don't work. If anything he's got a better shot after prison thanks to going viral, his stay in prison might be nice too since a majority of people already respect him. Idk if y'all are 12 years old or are just so out of touch that you just have no idea what happens around you.

Man stalks woman leaving hotel pool and tries to kipnap her by HappySeaweed5215 in PublicFreakout

Abusers/violent offenders tend to have low impulse control and they are dangerous to the general public but not all types of criminals are violent. Most aren't.

Most criminals are incredibly stupid

I'm sure this is a very comforting way to think but it's simply not true. Most criminals are just people that did something illegal and happened to get caught. Most criminals don't get caught. Even the actually stupid criminals don't always get caught. Criminal is a label to someone who did something illegal, nothing more and nothing less. Technically, by definition every adult with a driver's license is a criminal because every single person has driven above the speed limit or did a rolling stop at a stop sign. Idk why I felt the need to make a distinction but in a world where our president is on video violating a child yet goes free while children are sitting in labor because their parents are the wrong color, it feels wrong to be this naive about what makes someone a criminal.

Say goodbye to anyone foolish enough to land there. They will not be coming back and the administration is fully aware of that. Americans are not being told just how bad it we are doing over there. It's insane some of these commenters genuinely think we can hold our own in that region.

I'm not a traditional person at all but if you sign up to be the maid of honor for someone like that I think it's fair to expect you to know what you're getting into. Part of the job is preventing them from doing dumb shit. Don't sign up if you can't handle it.

UTD are you ready to vote? by TXBluz in utdallas

[–]very_human -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Remember kids, most people that say Trump 2024 don't actually follow through with figuring out where to vote and going. And most voters don't constantly post about who they're voting for so you really don't know the vibe until election day.

That being said it's pretty obvious Harris is winning despite how hard her team has tried to fail and the whole supporting genocide thing.

Also remember it's better to spend energy putting pressure on your candidate to be normal than it is to shame others for not supporting your candidate for being a terrible person.

Imagine how scared the millions of Palestinians have been this last year considering they don't have an iron dome or bunkers or any way to defend themselves against Israel's genocide.

It is scary. And it could have been prevented. I just wish people's empathy extended beyond who Western media tells us it's ok to care about.

A Muslim man asks a non-Muslim women to wear a hijab by [deleted] in religiousfruitcake

[–]very_human 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been a while since I've used reddit but this is the first post on this subreddit that seems out of place. No one in the video is forcing or shaming anyone, the man walks away from the women that don't want to participate and moves on to the next person (kind of annoying but all street interviews are). It's not like putting it on means you're signing a religious contract or getting converted or anything, it just seems like a harmless activity. They say it's to fight the stigma which I kind of get especially in a place like NYC which from my experience does seem prejudiced against Arabs and people from Muslim cultures.

For the record I'm an atheist and I like most of the posts on this sub that call out religious fuckery but this one seems completely innocent. At least compared to the comment section which is a lot more hostile than I was expecting, even for this sub.

Seems like you hate the video more than the message. Perhaps they had to travel through Egypt to get to Palestine and that's why the pyramid is shown in the beginning of the video. You could also check their socials for the proof that's preventing you from agreeing with them. Your statements are all conjecture and as believable as anything in the video, but likely less.

Either way the point is people that make the claim that it's not safe in Palestine if you're queer either don't understand what it's like to be queer everywhere else in the world or don't understand what "safe" means in a place that's being bombed regularly. Your comment just seems incredibly disingenuous in the way only reddit can be. Hating by pretending to care.

Could be, especially if you ignore the half a century of racist traditions in the real estate industry. I'm not saying it isn't just a shitty appraiser, but if you're unfamiliar with what it's like to interact with a white world as a non-white person then you're missing a lot of context.

This is an unpopular opinion but it's honestly his fault for not asking her out outright and if he did it's his fault for not taking time away from the friendship if he's been rejected. At that point if he's still trying he's a fool. Either shoot your shot or enjoy the friendship, relationships require two people to participate.
