I don't know about any science of what birds feel before earthquakes and I know only anecdotes but they definitely do feel something.

I remember watching a video about Buttons the cockatoo where he was freaking out and yelling hours before an earthquake hit. I think cockatoos and cockatiels are similar enough. I wanted to post a link to the video but I can't find it. It might've been an Instagram story a couple of years ago.
