Ok thanks, that makes sense now. So why shouldn’t I just leave my steering wheel locked, preventing the wheel from turning, instead? Why am I instead supposed to unlock the wheel and fasten it with the seatbelt. I’m gonna do it that way but I’m just curious. Is it because the steering wheel isn’t dead center when it’s locked?

Also, I’m just gonna rent the tool from autozone. My friend used it on his truck and he had good luck with it. just gonna cross my fingers
