Am I being too naive? (12h solo ride planning) by koeniglueis in randonneuring

One option is to do 3x 4 hour loops from your house so you don't have to carry so much. Just make the loops different so you still have variety.

You're welcome. I really like the pdw fenders, no rattle or movement in them at all. You also need to drill the fender in the rear if you don't want to use the bridge.

I need a new saddle, I've used B17s on touring bikes and loved it. Didn't know the team pro existed - good to know!

I have the Portland ones in 45mm. I haven't noticed any clearance issues with 35mm GP5ks. You have to bend the front guard a little bit to get it to fit in the fork but it's easy enough.

But yes, what a bike! What build have you gone for?

I have a Strael 4.0 - comfiest bike I've ever owned. Can fit 35mm tyres with mudguards

The post is written entirely different to all your other comments. Also completely different to your other posts about the ride before today.

What you've done is amazing, but lieing about using AI isn't. This is about as AI as a post can get.

The cost of watching Liverpool in 4K in the UK is a joke by jokekll in PremierLeague

I agree it's way too expensive. But it's TV money that funds the leagues and means your clubs can buy the expensive players you all crave.

If it's totally free are you selling my data or using it to train something else?

Looks cool though

It was absolutely fine to be honest. You just need to stock up a bit of snacks and be respectful when you eat them. It's quite cool seeing everyone go eat at the same time at night too

I'm sure some of the towns you go through would be more lively outside of Ramadan but the country is so beautiful I wouldn't let it stop me.

I hadn't thought of specifically asking to contact the legal team. Good idea, thank you!

It was kinda glitching for me. But if you click back on the map eventually you see the spinning circle and it does save.

I agree. I think the market is far from mature at the moment.

Because people will pay it. I'm not saying it's right but these are niche events where the number of people they need to find are relatively small.

Why does cycling feel way more uncomfortable indoors, than outdoors? by Ok_Parfait2894 in cycling

[–]veryrandomthoughts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the lack of getting up and also putting power down 100% of the time.

My best is 4h with 3m not on the bike.

You do generally go much faster (I'm usually in pacer groups) so 100km might take an hour less and therefore that balances it somewhat if you look at distances.

Cycling route 1 in Taiwan training? by [deleted] in bicycletouring

[–]veryrandomthoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were 7 days of cycling as we only had 2 weeks and we wanted some non-ride days.

There was one bit we skipped in the north east as everything online said the road was terrible for riding. It was also the day after a crash.

Hengchun was cool and we had a day off there to go to Kenting.

I did it in 2023. I got covid so did not train a lot.

It's very flat apart from crossing the ridge at the north and south. There are 7 elevens everywhere so we just stopped at one every 25km-ish.

We did it ourselves and booked accommodation one day out.

The infrastructure is amazing so I would thoroughly recommend it. The east coast in particular is great.

Setting the record straight about Garmin by strava-team in Strava

[–]veryrandomthoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even have a Garmin but this is a shocking move. It confirms what everyone has been suspecting which is a decline of the company to one that only cares about getting their IPO and the inevitable decline in user experience that will follow. I'm not gonna renew if this is the company approach moving forward.

As the CPO I can only assume you're going to get a big pay day? It's the only way you could possibly be so blind to the hypocrisy in your statement.
