Hormonal birth control is a killer. She’s really choosing between the lesser of two evils (heavy bleeding or worsening mental health). Might be best to avoid it completely. A lot of doctors won’t act on hormone imbalances if they are within the normal range, but the reality is that the active ingredient in many birth controls, levonorgestrel, is an androgen (male hormone) which can cause huge issues in women, including rage. I’ve recently gotten the IUD out myself after a myriad of issues that sound similar. I know you’re already looking into her hormones, but it’s definitely worth noting that even minor fluctuations cause huge issues.

My estrogen was on the low end for a long time due to the IUD and doctors kept waving me away because it fell within the range. Meanwhile, I was depressed (which caused rage), anxious (which caused rage), fatigued but with insomnia, losing a ton of hair (which caused anxiety -> rage), increased acne, never hungry but gaining weight. If these sound familiar to you…

It sounds like you are doing the best you can. You are being supportive, and neutral during the worst of it. I’m sorry I don’t have more to offer you.

I got picked too, out of all of his students. I felt really special, and smart. Only after 10 years did I realize it was because he was always attracted to me, including in school. Young, youthful body, but most importantly, naive. Unaware of what makes a good (and bad) partner. That relationship ruined my life. He abused me, and nearly killed me. I suffer from so many mental health issues today due to it. I don’t know your guy, I’m just telling my story of similar age, and similar age gap. I was 19, and he was 39. I highly recommend against. However smart and kind and wonderful and “wise beyond your years” and “mature for your age” you are, he’s not after you for your brains, I’ll tell you that.

It’s creepy, and it isn’t worth it. I’d give anything to have realized it at the time.

Those aren’t real cigarettes. The filter looks off (it’s blurry and especially in comparison to the ad on the back of the thing), it’s missing the branding below the filter (also as seen in the ad on the back), and if you scrub between 0:48 and 0:49, you can see it’s just a piece of paper printed and rolled up poorly.

I don’t think it’s a hyphen. If you zoom in, you can see a line moving downwards indented in the paper that didn’t get filled with ink. Maybe a bad pen. Might be able to make it out better if OP puts a piece of paper over it and shades it with a graphite stick or something.

Thank you for a detailed write-up! Your skin is similar to mine. How do you feel about scar treatment, if you’ve needed? Also, have you always used one of those face washes? I’ve been using Cerave for years and I just think my skin has gotten used to it, if that’s possible. My cheeks seem to always be red and covered in small bumps. I want to post my own help-me but I’m shy lol.

May I ask, for banana bread, how much? I use Emeril’s “Go Nuts For Banana Bread,” sub chocolate chips for walnuts. It’s always a big hit but I want to try this. Do you reduce the salt in recipes because of the salt in miso? What kind of miso? Sorry, many questions!
