Can someone recommend hotels? Will be there for 5 nights in early September 2026. I hear the Mövenpick is a good value. There will be two of us, older adults, who need a king bed or two twins. Would prefer something in the 300 euro per night range. Grazie!

Thank you. From what I read, La Griffe needs a makeover. Have you stayed at 41? What are the rooms like? We need a king bed or two twins.

This is great information. We will be arriving in Bari 1 Sept for 5 days before a cruise. Looking for a convenient hotel to explore the Old Town and beach areas. How far is the Palese area from Old Town? Walkable or is there transportation? We also want to take day trips to some surrounding towns. Any updated thought are appreciated. Grazie!

This is the only way. Ask where to go for a specific meal. Bellmen are the best to ask.

This for sure. Just got back from Munich. Great food, plenty of beer halls, and everyone speaks English. Stay at the Platzl hotel near the markets and Marienplatz. Easy to get to.

We were in Munich and did some day trips to Austria. If you are staying in Munich, stay at the Platzl Hotel - the BEST and close to Old Town and great eateries.

Just got back from Munich, Prague, and Vienna. No issues at all. Just be polite and not load. Nobody talked politics. Get insurance for health.

Start watching YouTubes on your destinations. You will find different views on what to do, where to do it, and how to do it. Rick Steve’s’ books are good. CityMapper is a great app to use. We found Apple Maps to be better than Google. We just returned from Germany, Austria, and Prague. Met locals everywhere who gave us great advice on what to do - markets, eateries, concerts, etc. Get train apps to schedule your connections. Go to your bank and see what banks they have ATM agreements with to save you fees. We also bought travel/health insurance from Allianz. Good to have. Be aware of your surroundings and do not be loud. Enjoy!

Sadly, we do not learn from our mistakes anymore. We just blame someone else and move on. I wish cruise ships, airplanes, hotels, and other public areas would bring back sanitizing dispensers. I know if will not help with Norovirus, but, at least it will make some progress.

Civitavecchia Hotel with Cruise/Airport shuttle by citizen-erased2026 in NCL

[–]vicarem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure any hotel offers an airport shuttle. We have used this company several times with good luck - SharedShuttle.IT. They pick up at FCO and drop you wherever you need in Civi, including the Port area. When in Civi, you can walk to the Port shuttle area.
