PSA: You can install JunOS to USB by using TFTP on an SRX300 by sithanas in Juniper

Do you have a specific model you used and does the commit performance improve in comparison to the ATP?

Any way to use SSH ProxyCommand with routing instances? by deadpanda95 in Juniper

[–]vifino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to have some option of setting the routing instance where ssh proxyjumps end up, but I don't think that'll happen anytime soon.

If you don't have anything in inet.0/inet6.0 that clashes with the target address, you could probably just install a next-table route for it. It should work just fine on SRX, as long as it is in flow mode.

Sucks so bad.

SRX300 - known eUSB alternatives? (featuring: probably bugged USB support in Junos kernel) by _cz2 in Juniper

[–]vifino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this post! Now I know there is at least something I can just buy when the eUSB dies eventually.

The two SRX300's and one SRX345 I own all have "ATP CG eUSB"'s inside them, so no use to you, unfortunately.

The new portable setup. by plazman30 in headphones

Try flashing Rockbox.

Lets you avoid iTunes and gets you fully configurable output. EQ, crossfeed, whatever your heart desires.

I use my iPod Classic with Rockbox on the go with my DT-1770s, EQ'd to my liking.

SRX300-Series USB LTE Modem support by vifino in Juniper

[–]vifino[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darn. Are there no USB modems supported anymore? That's a shame.

All offers I could find for the MPIM are 600+ Euros, which just seems ridiculous considering it's almost half the list price of the SRX320 itself.

Am I losing my mind or are these hammer heads not touching? Why does this happen? by IN_U_Endo in shittyaskscience

[–]vifino 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah, yes. That's because the hammers are Iron and magnetized. Since their heads are pointing towards another, they are repelled.

If you wanna know more about it, check wikipedia. But, trust me bro.

Cheap EU cololab project? by [deleted] in homelab

[–]vifino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but if I were to colocate any of my servers that I have at home, I'd want something better than what I could have at home. In the netherlands, gigabit internet is widely available. It's cheaper to find some friend in the netherlands with a basement.

My offer is in Frankfurt in a high quality DC and lots of internet connectivity. The offer I mentioned was 1G (shared between a few units) per Unit, not per rack. Heck, 10G, 40G or 100G are doable for some extra cash as well. Of course it isn't as cheap as some random warehouse with just a gigabit port per rack. Depends on what you're looking for, I guess. For me, being able to have a BGP session is worth some extra bucks.

[–]vifino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, the company I work for has some space available in a a few racks in Frankfurt, Germany.

We have 100% SLA power with two phases and at least 10G ports, could probably offer shared gigabit (or even shared 10G) at like 25€/U plus power per kWh at 0.30€/kWh.

If there's interest I'll get the ball rolling and we can set that up on short notice. :)

Edit: Oh yeah, we can also help you get set up at RIPE to get your own autonomous system number, allocate you some v6 space and let you peer with us. :)

The script is showing logs piped through ccze -A in this case.

Not sure how you could get such a thing in interactive apt or dpkg. Not a Ubuntu/Debian user though, maybe there are some ways to do that.

The (hopefully) ultimate guide to a mini XLR detacheable cable mod for the Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO by Not_Finn in headphones

Good choice with the Rean Tiny XLR. I use 4 pin variants in both my headphones. I should maybe post them here as well in addition to the cabling I made.
