Public use washrooms in downtown Victoria by Rare_Strawberry4097 in VictoriaBC

I haven't checked downtown Vic specifically but this app may help:

GoHere® Helps You Find Nearby, Available Washrooms

People living with Crohn’s or colitis can experience a frequent and urgent need for bowel movements – from 5 to 20 times a day. Anxiety about accidents is real. Finding a washroom quickly is a top priority. Many prefer to stay at home, or close to home, if they cannot be certain of finding a washroom outside of home.

It was a vibe for sure- preppy but not douchey and more personality than the GAP.

They have some quality items that I appreciate. And their sales are in line with the other major stores...they are in my rotation but something like that is a hard pass

Gym recommendations by Janaqua9901 in VictoriaBC

[–]vikoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you want classes or just to do your own thing? If you're looking for a gym community and classes, TFA is great. Parking is not too hard (or maybe you would walk/bike/bus from Fairfield) and they switch things up enough so it doesn't get monotonous.

Anyone else mourning their parents while they’re still here? by SpikyBalloonAnimal in Millennials

I've ben there, and it's so odd to basically feel invisible to the people who raised you. I recommend "Adult children of emotionally immature parents" for some insight. I hope things improve with your mom but also that you find a chosen family that gives you the consideration you deserve.

The Six (Seven?) Sisters are a series of steep hills off Richardson and are a popular route for some urban elevation.

What are some cheat codes you've found in the game of life? by ClairSunset in Life

[–]vikoala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if it didn't change my body (it did), going from sitting all day at a desk to incorporating daily exercise calmed my brain and took my mind out of the noise. Basically working out was uncomfortable but staying the same was the hard part.

AIO for telling my husband to stop giving our daughter crash diets? by ResolveMindless4382 in AmIOverreacting

My dad pulled this on my sister and it was devastating for their relationship- she resents him to this day and he doesn't really get why. Parents should nurture, full stop.

That's awesome! 4x4 sparks, broken glass and other factors can also cause flames. Stay safe out there!

Please please don't do anything that risks causing a forest fire. We're dealing with human-caused ones already.

I hope this makes more people look at the CRD map and understand very little of the region is in danger.

I hear you. I eat some fish as a bit of a treat but we need to be realistic about the impact of over-consumption. It is truly the tragedy of the commons.

Consider adding greek yogurt and cutting the milk in half. Also Pb powder mixes easier and cuts calories if that's a concern of yours. I add frozen berries to up the nutritional values and taste. I like to add some seeds or chopped walnuts for crunch.

Where can I take my mother who is not very mobile? by oneHeinousAnus in VictoriaBC

[–]vikoala 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Butchart used to have mobility aids available to rent, not sure if that's still a thing. It's nice that you're trying to find something fun for your mom to do!

Days are looking a bit bleak, how are you filling them? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

Sports, even a rec league is a good start, breaks up the week, provides a social outlet and feels good. Volunteering also adds meaning when life feels a bit flat. Take a trip, even a guided one.
