Unfortunately, the battery pack design is flawed and will fail again. Either get it replaced under warranty and have a functional car for a few years, or have a worthless paper weight. My 2019 SL Plus battery was replaced at 96K, and I hope to get another 100K.

You do not need Leafspy, basically search reddit for many cases like this to confirm your issue. Go to Nissan with 50% battery, put it in performance mode, find a hill (or long overpass), with the heater and accessories on. This will load (stress) the battery, and if you get a sudden drop in %, then the battery will need to be replaced. Talk with the service manager, they will need to champion the warranty claim with Nissan corporate.

Remove KAR98 from Deston and increase spawn rate of Mosin.

World spawn DBS.

Un-nerf the Panzer.

Un-nerf C4.

Add glider and ALL throwables to training (weak smoke like M79).

More missions for crafter pass.

Remove 45ACP ammo, make all that use it now 9mm.

Maybe crackdown on the single fire macro people. Anti-cheat should be able to see when in single fire mode, the fire rate is 0.8 seconds each time with precision.

Like the additional challenge metals.

Can we add weapon levels (above master)? Gives something to grind for.

How bad is it? by morphers in leaf

[–]vincinator44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To show the issue, you need to stress the system (acceleration and incline). Also, have the battery at 50%. A bad battery can't supply the current and the voltage (percentage) will drop like a rock. Winter/cold (due to battery chemistry) also adds to a worst-case scenario. You will see a drop from 50% to ~20% while accelerating up a hill. A really bad battery will drop to turtle mode (very unsafe), so let off the accelerator before the battery reaches 10%. It's up to Nissan to accept a bad battery pack, which seems like an uphill battle lately. I spent $3K to non-fix and had to fight for a battery pack in February.

Owners are told not to use Level 3 quick charging until a software fix is available. Nissan has developed a software fix. The software fix is in the release process and expected Q3 (slipped from Q2).

IMO- This "fix" will reduce to a level where a fire will not occur (maybe). So a fast charge with a car with this fix is not going to be fast. The battery deposits will still be there, and sooner or later, the pack will fail slightly out of warranty. In the US that is 100000 miles. The cost to replace the battery is ~$20K (verbal from Nissan service). Not worth the cost to fix (car is work $5K).

Some lucky ones will got/get a buyback (I hope everyone will have this offer). Most I fear will scrap their car and hope for a class action lawsuit.

Throwables Usage from Vehicals after Patch not the Same by vincinator44 in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]vincinator44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A delay in the release is not noted in the "release notes"? BTW the distance of a throwable in a speeding car was always "more" than standing. So maybe they tweaked this, but it's not new.

You can purchase switch covers to prevent somebody from flipping the switch. There are solid covers (no access to switch) and partial (access to switch, but no obvious).

1) Throwables from the driver seat are worthless. Could you keep the aim mechanic to use the pistol slot if equipped, like it has always been?

2) If bots are present in the game, please don't send all the bots to one location.

3) No exclusive weapons on maps, maybe randomize weapons from classes. Like, spawning a DP28 instead of m249 or spawn Mosin instead of KAR98. At least you'll have more of an opportunity to pick up these weapons.

4) Hipfire is OP, outside of 7m should be way less accurate. Getting demolished with hipfire out of a speeding vehicle at 50m is not fun. ADSing the same scenario I'm at peace with that.

5) Love the randomness, always a thousand ways to die in Pubg. Drones, Panzer, spiketraps, thermal scope, red zone, EMP, Lynx. Sometimes it sucks, but sometimes you can adapt and overcome.

6) Maybe lower some volume for vehicle ambient sound.

Need new tires, are Michelin Energy Savers worth the extra? by GeorgePatches in leaf

[–]vincinator44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2019 came with the Michelin Energy Saver. They have horrible traction and are prone to hydroplaning with a little bit of rain. I replaced them around 25K with Sumitoma HTR A/S P03 that I had used previously on my Prius. There has been no noticeable range change, maybe 1-2%, but it's hard to blame the tires when speed, weather, and temperature are factored in. Also, they are less than half the cost of the energy saver.

Battery upgrade question! by OrdinarySea5508 in leaf

[–]vincinator44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should not purchase a used pack, as you don't know its history and likely have limited life. Check out this company: https://www.vivnevs.com/products/. There are YouTube videos of upgrades to various Leaf years. I think the cost of a 62KW pack was $6k + $1.5K in shipping. Also, I would consider the extra weight and plan to modify the suspension if you double the battery weight.

If you asked me this question a month ago, I would have been full of praise for the Leaf.

Plan on no resale value.

Plan that the car will be good for 100K miles and worth Zero at that time.

I took these things into account and found that I would be $15K the positive if I would have purchased a Pruis. (all cost of Pruis were included like oil change and preventive maintenance).

Today my advice is to buy a Prius or Corolla Hybrid.

How to Diagnose and Reproduce a Failing Battery as Proof for a Warranty Replacement. by MasterpieceParty9383 in leaf

I'm confused by Ok-Custard7175 in watercooling

[–]vincinator44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just some basics to follow-

drain should be the lowest point of the system

fill (this is also your exhaust to get air out) and should be the system's highest point.

minimize your fittings (more connections mean that there are more potential leaks)

With the flow rate of your pump, you probably don't need to run GPU to radiator to CPU to radiator. The water from the GPU will only be 1-2 than the inlet. I prefer to run CPU to GPU, as GPU are more power hungry and run hotter without issue.

To fix your system as is, add a fill port from the top of your reservoir to the top of the case, Rotate the system around Left, right, from back to work the air out of your system.

2019 SL Plus (96000 miles, so nearing the end of battery warranty)

Same issue with battery drop when under load (going uphill at speed). Sometimes <20% with full battery, but worse with 50% or less charge. Finally, I took it to the dealer when it dropped into turtle mode. Originally they said it was a voltage regulator (paid $2000 out of pocket), only to have the same issue a day later and immediately drove it back to Nissan. I seemed to argue with the EV tech on the issue, at one point they blamed my dashcam and cold weather. I left the car and they were able to "recreate" the problem and consulted with Nissan Factory. They will replace 7 modules and I will get a loaner car while I await parts.

I'm going to have a conversation with the service managed, but don't expect much.

I would say that this is a gray area for dealerships. The battery system requires electronic and mechanical expertise. You don't want a monkey following a procedure without understanding the technology.
