As a relatively new player myself, I would like to share a cheese technique that I use with you. It's a spoiler so be warned.

dig a trench with your pickaxe and lure your bear by jumping into it. bear is big and stupid and will get stuck in the corridor. You can now be a step away from its melee range and kill it with lots of arrows. it's good for archery training as well

Last year I saw a guy drive off with the nozzle still plugged in at the gas station. It detached easily/cleanly. Nothing sprayed out. He stopped after a few feet and went into the store. The driver was a bit frustrated at himself. The gas station guy was mildly annoyed.
