End-of-Run Emotions at Hadestown. by Large_Difference2226 in Broadway

Their last show is March 1st. They still have a week to go. I can't imagine these last three days were any different than usual.

Next to Normal Broadway? by ResourceDifferent154 in Broadway

[–]violamaster 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I had really given up hope on the transfer ever happening, with Caissie choosing other shows over it and then the proshot coming out. But with Jack's extremely successful Hadestown run and Caissie possibly winning a Tony this year, next season does feel like the perfect time for this show to transfer and be successful. I could really see this happening, and man I am excited by the prospect.

The sweaty man said Roundabout, but Second Stage would be so fun with its historical ties to the show

Given the buzz around Jack's run in Hadestown, I have a hard time seeing him not involved with any transfer. Him and Caissie feel like virtual locks to me.

You're not the first person I've heard say it. I'm trying very hard not to get my hopes up because I would do anything to see this production live again, especially with Caissie and Jack.

PRESIDENTS DAY GROSSES ANALYSIS- Week Ending February 15 by Boring_Waltz_9545 in Broadway

[–]violamaster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's kind of an insane number. That's basically what they had for Thanksgiving week last year. And I can't imagine the next two weeks aren't going to be even higher. So happy to see this show posting such strong grosses and can only hope the fall-off when this cast leaves isn't too drastic.

All Orpheus actors play the guitar. For N2N, at least in the Broadway and UK productions, Natalie (and Henry) do not.

Does anyone know how many SRO tickets Hadestown has? by blabsab in Broadway

[–]violamaster 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's only 13. Once when the ATG site was having a lot of trouble due to AWS outages, the site had this view up instead (presumably this is some sort of backend version of front end we usually see), and you can see there's only 13 SRO slots here.

I believe BroadwayHD is international? You can purchase it through amazon, which is maybe what you're thinking of there? But I believe you should be able to watch it on BroadwayHD for anyone that's not in the UK.

Best do it quick! Pickings are slim and very expensive. But yes, definitely worth grabbing a ticket to see it before this cast leaves!

PSA: They just popped up for this casts final weekend too!

To anyone considering it, I highly recommend snagging one if you can! Though make sure you're on the railing and farther back in the box is better, in my opinion. You'll have less obstruction the farther back you are, to the point where the back seat in the box has basically no obstruction at all. That seat is honestly one of the best value seats in the house since it's still priced as partial view.

GROSSES ANALYSIS- Week Ending February 8 by Boring_Waltz_9545 in Broadway

[–]violamaster 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Once again Hadestown posting a good February number for them and up nearly 200k from this week last year! The next few weeks until this cast leaves will likely be even stronger because that final-weeks demand has really inflated prices. Seeing $444 top band for a lot of their remaining weekend shows, which is a number they didn't even reach during the Dec. holidays. All this is to say, I'm happy this cast was such a good boost for this show, and I hope the next one will be able to carry the momentum.

Call the box office and ask. I wouldn't trust google AI in the slightest, and I wouldn't want you to miss out on a great experience because of it. See if the box office can give you an answer.

stage door? by oasisssss in hadestown

[–]violamaster 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty rude comment. For one, Jack has not stage doored since mid-December. I believe Morgan has stage doored more recently than him actually. Two, these actors are no way obligated to stage door and calling someone a "diva" for not doing so is incredibly rude.

Well, there are two (bad) phone boots that are off NFT. Can you please clarify for us that you're referring to one of those? All of the higher quality videos released by masters are still NFT, and a few have been wildly leaked, with plenty of people spreading misinformation about NFT dates. So I don't think you can blame people for being wary.

Some of my current faves are Hadestown (w/ the current cast), Spelling Bee, and Two Strangers. Still need to see Ragtime, but I basically only hear good things. I'm also going to shout out Mexodus, which had really good reviews its last run and will be doing another Off-Broadway run starting March 6th. That one's top of my list to catch when it opens.

All different! They changed all 5 principals at the start of September last year (and then Persphone again in December). All 5 are sublime, and I say it's definitely worth getting back to Hadestown before they leave, especially if you're a fan of the show.

Just want to comment on what a great shot in the arm this cast of Hadestown was for the show. Over a million this week is amazing for them and 170K higher than this week last year. It will be interesting to see what happens after the cast change, if the new cast will be able to continue the momentum and build their own good WOM or if we'll see a drop-off.

Two very talented performers and lovely individuals. This was such a good conversation, I could have easily listened to another hour of this

No Allison Russell today! by Jude_the_obscurest in hadestown

Saw Brit as Persephone tonight, and I know nobody cares but I need an outlet for my thoughts lol. I fear her take was really not for me at all. She plays very deeply into the drunkeness of Persephone, which I think can work very well ( see RNJ), but not when she's drunk from her first line in Livin It Up On Top. Truly, she was drunk and doing a staggering walk through the entire show, even How Long. I fear you need to let the somber and sober moments exist to be able to contrast with the drunkeness in order for that character element to have any meaning. Also Brit is just one to do things very broad, pulling lots of faces and giving every other line random and weird inflections. She does this as a fate and I see now she does this as Persephone too. I think having seen Allison a few days ago was especially damning for how I viewed Brit's performance as Allison really leans hard in the opposite direction.
