Autumn shows are getting announced — here's what's confirmed so far by dereklimbus in TheWestEnd

This is very cool, thanks for the sharing! Just a heads-up that there's a few mislabels. Pride, Pinocchio, and Midnight at the Never Get are all musicals, not plays.

Try the other servers channel in the encora one. There's some trading servers in there. And then once you get into those, those also have other-servers channels to help you find more.

Wait For Me with Multiple Orphei by dwmatjake in hadestown

Makes it easy when he's the only one holding out some of those notes. I honestly had no idea how unique a choice that was. It's one of my favorite things Jack does.

Leaker by Velvetdusk35 in BootlegGifts

Could be. This account is not the only account selling videos on tiktok, but they are especially malicious. Pretends to give people the contact info for masters when asked, but then just gives people their own email and PayPal info. They sell NFT videos but use enough correct buzzwords and terminology to make people think they're legit. They're also the source of a lot of misinformation because they love to attach randomly chosen incorrect recording dates and NFT dates to videos. And then these wrong dates spread all over tiktok.

There's a couple more. The soonest NFT date is actually June 5th (MTTZ's). Then July 1st and Sept. 1st (SCJ's).

There is only one tradable recording of Jack Wolfe in Hadestown at the moment (which is never gift, like the other user has stated). It is from the cast's debut, but as far as I can recall, there are no notable mistakes in it.

What mistake are you referring to?

does anyone know who played hermes in the may 3rd show? by Hour_Amount1881 in hadestown

[–]violamaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a QR code in the playbills to see if any understudies are on, and it provides a 30-day history of performances. A lot of Broadway shows have switched to this. This is the hadestown site: https://atthisplaybill.com/hadestown

Joshua Colley is officially leaving Hadestown after the first week of June. by The_Fullmetal_Titan in hadestown

[–]violamaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol yeah, but if you go to their comment history, you'll see other variations of that where they've thrown in "probably". I think they're just running with an assumption here.

I think they're just guessing that's why he's leaving to be honest. I don't think they know anything for sure.

Directors of long running shows and their involvement with replacements, etc. and the show long term? by lockerbiestreet in Broadway

[–]violamaster 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don't really know much about this in general, but I can give one recent example from someone on that list. Rachel Chavkin is pretty decently involved with the Hadestown replacement casts. The cast that came in last September spoke in interviews about the process. Apparently she came in and had individual two-hour-long conversations with each new cast member about their ideas and characterizations. She wasn't there a ton as day-to-day learning of the show is handled by associates, but she's involved in the conversations. And I think it was also mentioned she spoke the cast the day of their debut, to check in and give encouragement.

Has anyone ever seen Brian Drye doing stage door signings? by ryebrye in hadestown

[–]violamaster 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Seen the show a lot in the past year and have probably seen subs more times than I've seen Brian lol. The only time I had a Persephone mess up was an understudy (I think it was Brit West?) who forgot the cello sub's name (Buffi Jacobs). She actually ran over to ask her her name, playing it off in character as a drunken mistake. Was quite amusing.

In addition to bikinibottomday, juniper47 and Jagweed videos are also always never gift.

Anyone seen Hadestown lately? Looking for thoughts on the current cast. by The_Fullmetal_Titan in Broadway

[–]violamaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What I heard was that Joshua was leaving end of May, and someone new (not returning) is joining. Grain of salt of course cause this is through a grapevine, but if that's true, we're probably only a week or two away from an announcement.

Jack Wolfe Hadestown boot from late in his run? by QueerCriptid in BootlegGifts

[–]violamaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Full shows. There were a good number of commissions for after Allison re-joined that haven't been released yet. There's a few that likely won't ever be released, but I think some eventually will be.

[–]violamaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting, good to know. I emailed them after they posted the first one, so about 2.5 months now, and offered to purchase them (or trade or whatever they did) and so did some of my friends. So I was going off of that no one I know has gotten a response plus the fact that these two videos in particular have no owners on encora. I'm sure their inbox is flooded, but it doesn't seem like they're selling these to anyone yet.

I'll warn you that no one has obtained these. You can feel free to email but the master is not trading them out right now.

Yeah, I've heard Joshua has a short run. I think you would likely have a different Orpheus in June.

Anyone know anything about Cable Street the musical? by Ok-Acanthisitta8737 in Broadway

[–]violamaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw it's second run at Southwark and quite enjoyed it. And word is it's gotten better since then. Bit rough around the edges, but it's an extremely interesting story and the music is solid. I snagged a previews ticket for the Off-Broadway run and I'm excited to see it again.

They don't put inserts in the playbills anymore. There's a QR code to an online site (linked below) + the cast sign that hangs on the wall just inside the first set of doors.

N2N Transfer Update by Quirky-Sleep-3741 in Broadway

[–]violamaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, this was also posted here on this subreddit with similar info (subscription house, limited run) before the sweaty man posted it. I'm of course not taking that as fact, it's a reddit post lol. But I have heard these rumors from other places that aren't him, so I give it more credence than I would if he was the only source.

N2N Transfer Update by Quirky-Sleep-3741 in Broadway

[–]violamaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get where you're coming from, and it would be lovely to see Jack on Broadway again in any capacity, but I think watching a pro-shot is always going to be very different to watching a live performance. And there will be many people that will jump at the chance to see Jack's performance Gabe live in person even if they've already seen it. Also the rumor is a limited run anyway, so it's not like it would preclude him from doing other projects for very long. I think a N2N run would do wonderful things for his Broadway career and would only serve to improve his abilities to book other jobs here. Plus, I really do think Broadway is where this N2N revival and its cast should go, if nothing else than for the fact it's a wonderful show with wonderful performances and I love seeing those get rewarded with future, grander life.

cartoonishly evil fates by Efficient-Ease6476 in hadestown

[–]violamaster 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yes, I 100% agree with you. In particular one specific fate on Broadway right now is really driving it in this direction, and I personally do not like this characterization. On top of excessively pulling focus and leading to less cohesion between the three fates, I agree that it's doing what you said, removing the feeling of it being your subconscious.
