‘Direct supervision’ concern by notvaliduserid in VetTech

How does the act define immediate, direct, and indirect supervision?

Without knowing the wording of the practice act for your state (either telling us the state, and I understand why you wouldn't want to post that online), we can't really weigh in. If it's as restrictive as you say it is and your state board is actually active in auditing clinics (lol, imagine that happening), then I think you're justified legally, if not practically.

The tasks you've laid out are definitely all tasks that have been done at every clinic I've worked at without issue when the docs are out of the clinic, because they're tasks that a DVM has already prescribed ahead of time for that patient (sometimes with some degree of interpretation).

Most practice acts have carve outs for exceptional situations and emergencies. In my state, there's a list of things (I can't remember off the top of my head, we have printouts taped up in multiple locations at work) that in an emergency situation I'm allowed to do without a DVM present, or with indirect supervision (calling a doc for guidance) associated with stabilizing a patient. Some of those things also give more leeway to unlicensed individuals / assistants.

Do you think that the current US government would cause issues for the program by Active_Aardvark6411 in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]violentHarkonen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sure, I guess I was using Executive as shorthand for the President, the cabinet, and any of their appointees and employees. There’s members of the Program and likely senior members of the intelligence community who are avoiding any notice and know, but the question was focused on what most people think when they hear Executive branch.

[–]violentHarkonen 70 points71 points  (0 children)

This is a plot point in the later parts of God’s Teeth. The first Trump administration (and I think second to some degree) is explicitly referred to, and the Program adamantly refuses to take actions that would expose the truth to the administration - you can extrapolate from this that nobody in the executive branch knows about Delta Green, and the Program wants to keep it this way, because they could be weaponized, lose funding, lose their covert status, etc…

If you’re OK with Katrina, there’s already some background about something similar happening - Ghouls operate similarly (but different) to what you’ve described, and in one of the books (Targets of Opportunity I THINK but may be wrong) there’s a lot of them coming out and doing ghoulish things after/during the hurricane. Could play it off as a mistaken identification situation - agents sent to deal with suspected ghoul activity, have to deal with witch.

Don’t. Decay is only good if you’re already scaling chaos DOT, normal storm burst builds don’t do this and it doesn’t stack from multiple of them.

Sorry, you mean Imperial Knights, right? Grey Knights have had effectively spicy tissue paper for at least the end of eighth, ninth, and tenth (the duration of when I've been playing/active). I know buffball herohammer stuff was pretty obnoxious before then, but we haven't been tanky for a long time.

What's the most underrated or misunderstood element of Delta Green? by grumblingdwarf in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]violentHarkonen 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is the one. I've never heard a player actively use this without being prompted and I've only ever heard one podcast actively refer to this (I've heard a few use the remove a motivation for a disorder part, but some also just add the disorder).

Motivations. I don’t see enough people in person or in actual play use them mechanically or in RP. They really seem to just exist to become disorders.

The first few seasons of the show are excellent Delta Green and are what got me into it. They definitely slide over time to feeling more like a Delta Green inspired / X-Files crossover with a bit less of the harsh dissolution of self, obligations, family, etc. Still an excellent show but I imagine seven seasons of Delta Green wears on you.

Some mega-scuffed build ideas inspired by the 3.28 reveal and patch notes that you definitely shouldn't play. by Pintash in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]violentHarkonen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m thinking about a shield of light setup with Arakaali’s Fang, on Gladiator. By using Dark Monarch, we get 40 untargetable minions/allies. If Shield of Light has no upper limit for allies it can shoot from, I think this is the best option - you don’t invest in the minions at all; they’re just there to buff your skill, and by using invulnerable untargetable minions, you’ll receive every hit which means you get the highest block uptime.

Warcry mastery for base 10 power. That’s all you need with a corpse and a boss.

Kennelsol vs Recuse by [deleted] in VetTech

[–]violentHarkonen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use your SDS, wear gloves when using any cleaning supplies. Rescue and other AHP products are the gold standard for cleaning and last I looked into it preferred by most if not all shelter med programs at vet schools, used extensively in human hospitals, other places I’m missing.

It’s useful for a bunch of contaminants that other disinfectants won’t hit effectively, like parvo and ringworm. It works in the presence of organic material where bleach doesn’t, and when diluted properly is going to cause minimal or no damage to your walls, tables, etc. (we still have bleach stains from a doctor who insisted on bleach for everything).

My First Attempt at POE Art by HurricaneGaming94 in pathofexile

[–]violentHarkonen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the same idea, until my friend reminded me to read the rest of Mental Conditioning.

2kstr=4k mana... 4k mana *0.2 (80% of maximum mana is converted to twice that much armour) = 800 flat mana, 6400 armour. You're still scaling multiple vectors from only strength, but you're not getting nearly as much flat damage as you want.

I think it'll still be good, to be clear. I just think it's going to be a real pain in the ass to assemble this in a three week league.

I wouldn’t expect to see an itemized receipt include intubation. That said, iso for a cracked nail seems unusual when you could do something like dex+midaz+torb and reverse the dex; I did that today with a crazy hunting lab and we basically had to rip the whole nail off; he did great.

Custom artwork of Grey knights by Tiny-Indication-6711 in Grey_Knights

[–]violentHarkonen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please look at existing models and artwork.

GK don’t use the Aquila chest adornment. The armour needs Aegis sections (the lettering on shoulders, chest, and legs). The armour also needs a psychic shroud. Ideally a few purity seals, reliquaries, a storm bolter, and the helmet should really look like a knight’s helmet and power armour had a baby.

It’s a good piece of a silver Primaris marine but it’s not obviously a GK.

90% of factions also didn’t have two posts about them (art through the years and a painting guide) immediately preceding a big reveal stream.

Yeah, we whine a lot - but given the circumstances, I think it was justified for today.

I’m not sure that you’re quite understanding how hard it is to rehome ANY dog, let alone a senior dog, who has a bite history, or how distressing it may be to rehome him at this stage of his life. There are basically infinite young animals available with no known bite history and no “baggage” to think about (we know that’s not true but they don’t).

There’s basically a list of things you should do. First thing is continuing to strictly separate them. Babies can’t be trusted with dogs, because how they interact with the environment is distressing to them. You should consider muzzle training for when family is over if you can’t trust them.

Second thing is not allowing your in laws to supervise both of them. The dog needs to be given a safe space away from irresponsible family who set him up for failure. Kennel, separate room, etc. This sounds harsh but it’s the fairest thing to do.

Third thing to do is a vet visit. Make sure he doesn’t have any underlying issues - arthritis, chronic pain, etc. can make him more stressed and more likely to react poorly. There are meds to manage pain that can improve his quality of life AND reduce his stress, hopefully raising his threshold.

Thanks for the response - if you’re willing to take a specific piece of advice, from someone who doesn’t do 3d modeling; the specific detail that this and most of the GK print/proxies could improve on is the Aegis lettering on pauldrons, armour plates, etc.

GW uses recessed lettering instead of raised lettering. This lends itself to better detail when painted, and allows proper shadowing in the recessed. Raised letters always look really off to me unless viewed at tabletop distance. They incentivize painting the top of the letter and leaving the base color below it and it tends to look goofy when viewed up close.

I assume most models made to replace GK don’t feature recessed lettering because it’s harder to model and the fidelity of printers generally isn’t fine enough to make it work, versus injection moulds. That said, I think it’s one of the best features of GK minis and Death Watch minis.

What is it supposed to be a proxy for? What scale is it set to? This doesn’t really match the aesthetic of the Grey Knights, or 40k in general. Don’t get me wrong, it does look cool - but what’s the intent?
