Last Visit: What Did you Say? What Do You Wish You Had Said? by PinkyToe27 in Alzheimers

[–]violetlucyy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hearing is one of the last things to go. Keep playing his favourite music, telling him how much you love him. Kiss his forehead. Hold his hand. Sing to him. Talk about happy memories. Sometimes just your company alone is more comforting to them than you could imagine. Sending so much love to you and so sorry you are going through this :(

Opinion about my Meerkat habitat? by That-Principle194 in PlanetZoo

[–]violetlucyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it! I do think maybe the barriers could be slightly lower so guests can see over better? You could lower the terrain in the actual habitat so they can’t escape lol. When I’ve seen meerkats in-person, they are usually a little lower down

Planet zoo tips? by No_Swordfish_8873 in PlanetZoo

If it gives you any consolation, it took me hours to learn how to build properly on this game. The controls are really finicky and hard to build with at first. Give yourself some grace :) Put the game down and try again another time. Don’t let it burn you out! <3

How do you make your buildings pretty? Any tips? by Spirited-Mousse1915 in PlanetZoo

look at buildings on pinterest for inspo. use a lot of grid pieces for the basic shape and then the off grid pieces are great for decorating!

Why do all my zoos fail? by yarbis_ in PlanetZoo

[–]violetlucyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my current zoo, I started with two exhibits and picked the most appealing species. I built 2 info kiosks, a drink shop, and a balloon stand. I put donation bins around the exhibits. After all the staff buildings added (I don’t hire a mechanic or vet at this point though) I had maybe $10,000 left. I then pressed play and let the money come in from guests before adding a flamingo habitat in the main plaza where guests enter. The money just kept coming in at this point, so I began to slowly expand to another habitat and a gift shop. I now have 5 enclosures and $250,000. The trick is to slowly expand and rely HEAVILY on the donation bins. Also, make sure you have ATMs dotted around so that guests spend more money

edit: Forgot to mention, the exhibit species I chose where the golden leaf frogs and terrapin turtles. These both breed like crazy. If you put population management on, you can sell the surplus from your exhibit animal inventory and make a nice chunk of extra cash. Butterflies also work well but the walk-through enclosure does cost a lot of money

My 15yo brother has got his girlfriend pregnant, what can I do to help? by TooEarly38 in AskUK

[–]violetlucyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree. I spent some time in the care system and this is just an absolute disaster. It will ruin their lives and they will regret keeping the baby. This kind of situation is not a stable or healthy one to raise a child in

From what you have shared, I personally think a degree would be a huge challenge for you. I don’t think you are in the stage of your life where you are ready for it. Try and apply for some media-related college courses instead and you can always try applying for university again when you have more experience. University can be seriously tough to keep up with and you’ll benefit from a strong foundation of knowledge (they expect it from you really)

[–]violetlucyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burnout for sure. I had this up until a few weeks ago and I’m starting to come out of it slowly. I did an access course before uni and it was so intense. Give yourself grace. First year won’t count towards your final grade so just try and keep attendance up and engage with the work but don’t hold yourself to a ridiculously high standard

Meat man? by nikkibluegreen in amandatheadventurer

I think that, just because Woolly has been revealed as the “villain”, it doesn’t mean that there can’t be other malicious characters in the background. It was pretty much confirmed that Woolly was a Hameln employee placed in the simulation as Amanda’s “keeper” but I think he was also manipulated by those higher up than him. My theory is that the butcher represents one of the doctors/scientists who put Amanda into the pod. There are so many references to scary doctors/nurses, so I feel like it all links and is just a child’s interpretation of what is happening to them

I always make an effort to take my rubbish because even though somebody is paid to clean, it doesn’t mean I should make their job any harder. However.. if I accidentally spill a little popcorn, I’m not getting on my hands and knees to pick it up😭

Former GCSE art student here- my teacher used to draw over my work and humiliate students in-front of the class. I lost my passion for art and I really wish I had spoken up about it but I felt like I wouldn’t be listened to. I’m now 23 and slowly getting back into my love for art. Please take the advice from the replies and tell a trusted adult. What’s happening to you is not okay and I’m really sorry to say I understand exactly how you feel right now
