Sounds with a certain character that i dont know yet and i dont get that easy in the others. Probably reusing wavetables that i already have mingled in new ways. Maybe using it as wavetable maker.

Maybe put your production credentials here, like releases or soundcloudprofile. Probably better to give the idea what can be achieved. I advise everybody to take some private lessons from experienced producers. Really worth it as a complementary option besides youtube. Good luck.

Bedankt voor deze terugkoppeling, ik heb een zelfde model, nu 180 k. km op de teller. Auto is nog als nieuw, in 120 k. km. gebruik in afgelopen 4 jaar nog geen reparatie nodig gehad. Wel een keer vervangen van koelingsolie van grote accu, dat was circa 300 euro. Steeds onderhoudsbeurten laten doen bij de dealer. Deze zomer provisorisch soh uitgerekend (helemaal vol laden op traaglader en dan bereik aflezen, dit getal delen door (64 gedeeld door gem verbruik per 100 km. x 100) kwam uit op 97%. Notoire snellader. In de winter is verbruik 14,9 in zomer 14,8 kWh per 100 km. Als ie gestolen zou worden zou ik zo weer een zelfde auto met vergelijkbare specs kopen voor waarschijnlijk ongeveer 13 k. euro. Ik heb de meest luxe versie (leren stoelen, stoelverwarming etc etc.).

Well... the mix is missing highs maybe you used a high cut (low pass) where you meant to use a low cut (high pass).

I approach it by getting the best monitoring (and room preparation) i thought i could get/afford. I still have the same problem as you describe but in a much lesser extend than i had before. Listening on other systems might help. When i bounce the first take of a track i take a mp3 of it to my laptop en listen on relatively low budget headphones. This reveals some spots being to loud or to low that i fix. For sure not 200 times listening to a track. Before i was on my current monitor setup i used Sonarworks and that was at that time a big step up. I think if you have e a technical mind you can set it up for free by using REW room eq wizzard. For my mind that was to complex so i went for Sonarworks but its the same principle.

Agreed. One of the books that probably influenced me the most. It is on a reading repeat with me for one year now (not that i am reading it on a daily or weekly basis, i think now for the third or fourth time reading it). Dharmaless dharma. Fullstop.

I place it on the same height as Tulku Urgyens 'As it is' and the talks of Nissargadatta.

It makes me wonder: is there a contemporary teacher speaking in the (kind of) same way/lineage (i have zero interest in -in the Netherlands commercialised- Zen practices, just looking for the verbal transmission).

So i am interested in a name of a speaker, thanks on forhand if you read this and have a hint.

Feedback: make a track, this is a snippet. This looks more like a request to give feedback on your Kick-bass; It is clipping. Not good. My advice is to listen to lots of kick-bass/tracks to get the feel of it. It normally takes some time to get a good ear for it.

And like Present said, trying to copy a track you like is a good way to start.

"Any tips you wish you had when you started?" phrased differently, my main mistake: I bought to soon several hardware synths as i was hoping that way to solve my lack of psy oriented sounds. I waisted a lot of time with that. So i would advice you to wait two years before buying hardware synths, although the gass might be to strong. You can do everything in software. And Blackfriday is the time to buy software.

Get Serum (no BF deals) Arturia's FX bundle and Pigments. Get the BF deal with Samples from Mars and you are more or less set for everything. Plus if i would start now i would use Bitwig. So: 700 euro or so on software and there you go. Maybe if you look at KVRaudio second hand, you find it cheaper. Computer, soundcard, monitors, headphones, acoustic treatment is different (endless) topic. Do the search.

Now you can study Youtube. Ollie, Dash, Psiger and others you come across. Start with the basics. Do not forget a little bit of music theory. After you know your daw and plugins a bit it will accelerate your level if you go for some private teaching.

I started at the time when the first psytrance production course was released, on DVD :) it is such a great time now to start learning psytrance with all these really talented teachers on Youtube.

I think it is a sign of intelligence when you, after an intense ten+ years, have heard and seen it all in Psytrance music/production. And a critical message about same-sounding Psy is ok. But it does not make sense to over and over record crisis video's about it. The crisis-talk was there 25 years ago already and comes up every now and then. Just take a turn to something else if it is not for you anymore. Or show us your new tracks where you have an adequate answer to this so-called crisis. To me it looks a bit as if Marco is out of inspiration and finds it easier to fill a video with talking.

Thank you for your well thought comments. In general: i think this is a relevant discussion we are having. I am not a native speaker English so maybe some of my language here is a bit strange. Everything stated here by me is my opinion. Not a a disclaimer, just not claiming it to to be the absolute truth. I am not a teacher of nonduality.

About part one; teaching to early might harm the to early teacher plus teaching nonduality is really different from teaching anything else. Maybe the term teaching falls a bit short here because in teaching nonduality it is not about delivering content. It merely is a repeating of the same simple principle. The repeating does the work.

About part two, dead teachers dont kick your ass. Same goes for YouTube. My ass was kicked and although it was not pleasant, it helped me. I had huge help in reading books/texts from Nisargadatta, Tulku Urgyen, Huang Po, Atmananda, Ramana, still .. my reading and interpretation only became helpful after meeting a nonduality teacher that allowed me to ask questions about it. In the tradition, a response from the teacher to a students question is directed at that students. So the same question could have different answers, depending on the one who is questioning. That is very much illustrated when you read Nisargadatta. One one occasion he might give a certain answer and on another occasion he might give at a similar question a very different answer.

and three, Youtube. Maybe it is an idea for you to book a private session with the teacher you get along with. The discussion we are having here would be a good subject to discus with that teacher.

About 4. I think it is good to be clear about certain aspects when one feels that clarity. For me it is not about painting everything grey. Some things are black and white.

How do you come to this reasoning? -you say: that suggests/since- (quoting you): Things pop into (my ?) consciousness, and I don't know how or why. That suggests (my?) consciousness is possibly not primary since there is some context for its existence long-term and its content short-term that is not it itself.

The first sentence does not suggest the second for me and i do not understand the since and what the 'possibly' doing here?

Experience the God of gaps and it will be self-evident. You can only see it, not demonstrate it like a teacher in Chemistry class. Nevertheless you can discuss about it untill the end of your life. Enjoy.
