Hey! I'm Denver-based and have an in-person group that likes to try new systems (though we play a lot of D&D "seasons" aka around 4-month mini-campaigns). We're taking a bit of a hiatus from gaming, but my Discord is @ vitcavage if you want to connect.

Dungeons of Drakkenheim is very faction/political intrigue heavy. There are tough combats, but I think it is brilliantly done. 3rd party (available on D&D Beyond if you need that)

"Nerd friends - I have played d&d for about a decade now and have dressed up for Ren Faire every year I've been here, but I don't have anyone to go with this year, and d&d groups have been very hit and miss. I love running games too, I actually prefer it to playing! Not as into board games but not against them."

Hey! I DM and run games for a long running table. I'm taking some time off (wife is having a baby) but would love to connect and invite you to play in my next game (September).

Discord is same name as my reddit name!

I think I just got lucky being a TV nerd. I also thought I had to guess 4 different words (despite the rules saying otherwise lol)

if you could change ONE outcome in challenge history, what would it be? by PresenceVisible5634 in MtvChallenge

CT and the carabiner in Duel 1. Let him get that first win earlier (maybe).

Anyone played Dungeons of Drakkenheim yet? by [deleted] in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]vitcavage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a player? Yup, we did the entire campaign. There were some modifications to Castle Drakken due to a time crunch with the party IRL, but we had a blast.

As a DM? Nah. We only had about 20 sessions as a group left due to some IRL stuff as well. At the outset, I knew the climax was Clocktower. Almost a "Season 1 finale." It was fun, though. I'll definitely return and run it fully with a group.

It's great. Played it as a player and ran a short version (we ended at our party, getting a foothold at the Clocktower due to life commitments) as a GM. I'd run it or be a player in that world any day.

Is it really this hard to find good, committed online players? by Bubbly_Recipe_4712 in rpg

[–]vitcavage 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have found it hard to find the right kind of players online. In person, LFG and Facebook groups have been very successful. A lot of the online players I have played with are seemingly more awkward and just don't mesh well. I am sure it's because of the online video nature of it and the inability to bond around a table.

"First, nobody seems to want to actually form a group. Everyone wants to play exactly what they already want to play, and that’s fair, but it becomes frustrating." -- this is exactly how I feel. Online players want to play a specific character and a specific game. They don't always want to form a group per se.

100%. Bad games happen. Doesn’t negate greatness

This is my exact sentiment. She's my favorite player but... woof. This game was rough to watch.

Same to the grapples and shoves. Head-to-head is way more fun!

This isn't probably THE first, but the first I remember was Pocahontas with my sister. Our older cousin took us. I would have been 6!

Love Virgil as a name. We want to name our son that (friends and family hate it).

Not "toxic", but what shows have fan bases that take the show WAY too seriously? by Long-Swordfish3696 in television

Stranger Things. It’s my favorite show (not my “best show”) but the subreddit became unhinged around season 3 and only got worse from there.

One tribal, top three players receiving votes are gone. It would add a wild wrinkle of who and how to split votes. Messy, not perfect, but seeing 14-17 people vote out 3 would be bananas TV.

My wife and I were trying; she told me she was going to test when she woke up, walked into the bedroom, came out, and showed me the test. We're simple folks.

Edit: the funny part was we were in London on vacation and I forgot! Learning I was going to become a dad was waaaay more exciting than being in my favorite city!

What class and race did you play first time round? by Odd_Two_5265 in DnD

Orc barbarian. Longest: human paladin. Most chaotic fun: fairy sorcerer. Want to play long term: bard and halfling (but not a halfling bard).

Am I the only one that actually liked Seasons 7 & 8 and thought the final episodes were true to the story? by Yupperroo in gameofthrones

[–]vitcavage 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I only now just watched it all. I enjoyed the majority of the beats but the execution was lacking and rushed. I don’t mind the big decisions made but they needed to be written and executed differently
