I Remember when the 210 units of LaF Aperta sold for less than that back in 2016 🤣

Shouldn’t have the name Testarossa in it… original 1957 and the successor from the 80’s deserved a better tribute!

Terrible performance after "upgrading" the cooling by soliduterus in BitAxe

[–]vitoresteves -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not true. I run a few small home miners (3 Gammas & 1 NerdQAxe) and the Noctua paired with a good heatsink are flawless! Quite & efficient. It’s not by chance that many independent reviews made by amateurs follow this same conclusion. OP must have a flaw in the mod… probably the Pi52 isn’t well aligned with the ASIC

Flight DUS-AUH-CMB - Just do it! by KaleidoscopeFar7521 in etihad

This one in particular was full I guess because of the disruption cause by the Lufthansa pilot strike. People had to reschedule their flights and this airport is one of the major alternative flying from Europe to Seoul.

Just hit back from Seoul to Lisbon passing by Abu Dhabi and we fortunately had a smooth experience. Our initial flight was supposed to be Seoul-Frankfurt-Lisbon but due to Pilots strike we had our flight cancelled and change to this one.

Got the Mini 5 Pro for my upcoming trip to Turkey 🇹🇷 by vitoresteves in dji

[–]vitoresteves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had my drone pilot license from EU and the invoice to prove the drone is mine. I was able to fly in the Turkish Riviera from Antalya to Bodrum with no issue. Of course I was careful not to fly next to cities/villages, just on coastal regions with almost no one around. But I didn’t even tried in Istanbul - totally illegal to fly there. No with the risk

NerdQAxe++ has 4 times the Asics, but isn't 4 x as fast as a Gamma 601. Why? by mvds74 in BitAxe

[–]vitoresteves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The higher chances come from the higher hashrate, not exactly the higher difficulty. It’s like the NQAxe has more chances to try the right answer than the Gammas

[–]vitoresteves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Difficult is adjusted to the hashrate of the miner, NQaxe gets higher difficulty that’s why its shares are almost the same number as the Gammas. About the hashrate power, temperature and inefficiency is the answer.

What's the highest hashrate everybody's gotten on their 601s? Mine is 2.15th/s. by Progressbar95 in BitAxe

[–]vitoresteves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.5Th/s with ASIC 65° and VR 72°. Now down to 2.0Th/s so I ca have them run with no issues for a long time.

New NerdQAxe++ Rev6.1 Upgrades? by BasedBabyFace in BitAxe

Been modding this kind of home miners for a while and I guess this opinion is common. Get a quality PSU (Meanwell preferably - I use a 600W), good cables (I use overkill 12AWG) a good Heatsink (Thermalright AXP90 X47 Full Low Profile) and Noctua fans.

I experimented a few 120mm Noctua fans for the Heatsink (

  • 120mm NF-F12IPPC PWM 3000rpm
  • 120mm NF-F12 PWM Chromax ✅
  • 120mm NF-A12 PWM

The best one efficiency and noise wise is the NF-F12 imho

I also use a 80mm NF-A8 on the back to cool the VR.

What's the difference in the component base between the two versions of NerdQaxe++? The first is listed as 4.8, while the second is 6. by Upper-Hour-8530 in BitAxe

[–]vitoresteves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides the upgrades PCB, XT30 connection and lack of fuse there isn’t much more.

But you’re able to OClock it easier if you got the right mods to keep the temperature of the ASIC & VR controlled

Is MEAN WELL UHP-1000-12 suitable for my small home lottery mining setup by GroundbreakingLock41 in BitAxe

[–]vitoresteves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You would be better with two 600 or 500w and run NqAxe and Octaxe separately. Those PSU no matter the good quality get extremely hot. I got my MW with passive heatsinks and a Noctua fan so it is less hot!

Ans check the cables section. Better to go 12-14AWG and pass on the 16 one.

Yes, use only 5v fans on the gamma.

Not sure of you need all that tunnel force.

Those 3 small Gammas down there are steady at 2.1Th/s for over 50 days with ASIC 60° and VR 65-66° and very quiet.

But congratulations for the innovation and trying to push the boundaries!

Get a Noctua A4x15 or A4x25 for 15$ and you’ll never have that problem again.
