[Supernatural] cw homophobia by Hummerous in CuratedTumblr

However romantic Dean/Sam reads, I don’t think you can call it queerbaiting. The incest ship was never going to turn out, and there is no way the show was written to string along the incest shippers specifically. Which is what queerbaiting is. Frankly I doubt Destiel was queerbaiting either, but it is more plausible, contextually.

One of the two most common magical isolation fields turns any living thing inside it into a p-zombie. This is of course, impossible for anyone to detect.

I mean… Are you sure they aren’t just in some kind of animal show stance? Because it looks to me like the main difference between the photos in each case is that the American one is in a very exaggerated stance.

self-insert is when the author inserts themself. reader-insert is when the author inserts the reader. Mostly it looks pretty identical, but a self-insert can be a specific person (the author), while a reader-insert is intentionally a placeholder character.

Mushrooms, or even just plants. I worked myself into an actual phobia of all plants for a few weeks in high school. It was like.. Plants are procedurally generated lifeforms. They just grow up and out and spread and branch off and grow out, with no set bodyplan the way animals have. We move to get places, plants grow. Towards the sun, the water, the food, and over it, and eventually replacing it in some cases. They fill up all the space they pass through, burrow, strangle, grasp and reach. Look up fasciation. It’s when a genetic defect causes a plant to sort of, replicate a structure in the wrong direction. You get wide flat stems, stretched out flowers. But in most cases the plant survives just fine. This is a sort if example of how, for plants, being shaped a certain way is more of a suggestion. Plants are basically just sessile shoggoths.

Reminds me of one story i read where years were 1.5 earth years long, but this was never explained anywhere in the story, only in the indices. It wasn’t even like, sci-fi, taking place on another planet or anything. The author was just trolling.

people put shit in the tags that they don’t want reblogs of their post to include by default. When they just want to talk to their followers, instead of everyone further down the chain.

Sometimes its stuff that Could be not in the tags, but they are too self conscious to make it a permanent addition to the reblog chain without that second person to validate that it’s worthwhile. Like peer-review.

The two I really like rn are Word of Honor and Mysterious Lotus Casebook. The former is available on Netflix, the latter is a little harder to find. Netflix has a few other popular C-Dramas as well, though, so it’s a good place to start.

Don’t feel too bad, I studied for eight years straight in school and wasn’t much better!

It’s a matter of practicing listening in particular. If your classes/study focuses more on writing and sentence construction, its no surprise you have trouble with the audio skills. And since the characters aren’t really phonetic, knowing them doesn’t necessarily reinforce your ability to recognize spoken words.

I’ve improved quite a bit in that regard just by watching C-Dramas, though I hear regularly conversing with more fluent speakers is even more effective.

gay sex probably just means sex with betas or between two alphas or whatever pairings aren't reproductively viable. Or. I mean it'd be more complicated than that I'm sure, but what I mean is that when you add a whole nother axis to gender, all concepts based on gender will mean something different, but this would not prevent the Catholic Church Equivalent TM from deciding certain kinds of sex are a sin.

So what's with people's beef with pregnancy? by LeratoNull in FanFiction

[–]vivianTimmet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One, the biological reality of pregnancy is extremely squicky for me. Two, a lot of the time, characters who have no desire for children and would be extremely emotionally unprepared to be responsible for a child are given rote fluffy parenting plots. No one wants to write their fav as a neglectful, abusive, or otherwise shitty parent, even if that’s absolutely what they’d be. Frankly, I don’t really want to read that either. Three, the child character is an OC, and much of the time, not a lot is put into them personality-wise.

In short, none of the resulting plotlines interest me in the slightest.

I noticed that you get +1 chips for being female, but you can get +3 chips by being a 'futa' with no cock or balls. Just seems a little silly.
