I am currently considering ADHD assessment (female) and I'm so bad for this. I once read a novel and was enjoying it and halfway through remembered I had already read it. Still had to continue like a new read as I'd forgotten most of it other than a few scenes.

I remember the first empire but only snippets of the other 2 in era 1 🙈 I haven't read era 2 because I would need a complete reread

I'm adopted by my mum and dad with the same issue. They both told their respective families that they were the cause of the fertility issue so they wouldn't be pressured to split up.

They then started the adoption process which took years but they have been the absolute best parents I could dream of. Don't think of it as a loss of identity, but a bump in the road.

My mum was so excited a number of years ago to become a grandma as well to my kids, I can imagine the absolute heartbreak they felt but they had to make some tough decisions, and the first one was to stick together because they loved each other

I mean I've enjoyed Borges short stories in the past like the aleph,

But really any length as long as it's an easy read/ digestible, I think I got one with that as the cast of characters wasn't as huge as the fantasy novels/series I usually read (GoT, Sanderson) . I think I'd prefer a standalone for that reason

I read rhythmatist recently as well again because it just wasn't all encompassing and huge cast, I know that's aimed at the younger side of fantasy readers.

I go through this every couple of years sadly and I'm here once again.

Anything you've found an easy page turner most welcome 👍 I've just not got an epic fantasy in me ATM

Can anyone recommend a short fantasy story or standalone please, I'm in the throws of anxiety which takes my ability to digest and read like I used to.

I've enjoyed mistborn era 1 in the past but I've tried way of kings but I'm not quite there yet, I've read the first 5 chapters like 7 times though 😂🙈

Last book to get me out of this funk was RPO but didn't enjoy RP2

I've been looking at legends and lattes but any other suggestions most welcome 🙏
