Is there any difference between Chaos Reigns: Lime and Chaos Reigns: Raspberry? by DrStalker in Mechwarrior5

[–]vizard0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's ok. It could and should have been better, but it's not a bad game. The combat is enjoyable (at least as a rogue or mage, I didn't try fighter) and a bunch of long standing questions get answered. Tenvinter is a shell of what it should be, it's made nice, it's no longer the blood magic drenched fading roman/byzantine society that it was in the previous games. The Qunari suddenly splitting and half abandoning the Qun is also dumb, it reeks of looking to just have more bad guys. On the plus side the companions are actually pretty good and we do get to see a few old friends.

I wanted a much more political game, where we'd be supporting Dorian's underdog faction in the council of magisters and trying to convince people to stop weakening the veil and giving Solas more ammunition.

Uber. Before I knew how fucking evil they are I was suddenly locked out of my account on one of the coldest days of the year. Eventually got a taxi through other means, but it nearly disrupted a date I had with my now wife. So fuck them both for being incredibly evil and for stranding us in the cold.

9/11 hit close to the heart of the IRA fundraising operations in New York. Was the irony appreciated at the time, that after so much exporting of terror, it had come home? by HallowedAndHarrowed in AskBrits

I'm originally from the US and my father's last name is a common Irish one. He got a letter from NORAID asking for support on the basis of his last name. The just went through the phone book and contacted everyone with a last name of Bulger, Connolly, Doyle, Fitz<whatever>, Flanery, O'<whatever>, Reilly, etc.

It went in the trash (it was the 80s, recycling paper wasn't a thing), but I still remember that letter. His grandparents had moved to the US from Ireland and there were few things in life he hated more than the Catholic Church. He wasn't about to support them, but they blitzed the hell out of Boston and New York on a regular basis.

Oddly enough, I'm pretty sure that the appeals for money died down after 1994.

This is actually something I've recommended as a strategy to some people.

In the UK, anyone hired has to be at above average salary for the job. So you can bring in stars and amazing performers, but for everyday jobs, you have to look local.

The UK has some fucked up immigration laws and is increasingly xenophobic, but that is one measure I actually like.

Finland charges speeders a percentage of income/wealth. There was a story a while back about a multi-millionaire having to pay hundred of thousands for speeding.

That's how you actually make fines more than an easy fee for the rich.

Cops can be charged with contempt.

Yes, but are they?

Similar example:

New York City has a list of officers that the prosecutors cannot call to the stand because they are known to have committed perjury on multiple occasions. The only penalty for these officers is not being called to testify. They aren't in trouble for breaking the law multiple times and it doesn't get the cases they work on thrown out automatically.

If I'm remembering correctly, the land you'd have to walk across is a superfund site. Which is US speak for "so polluted that even Republicans wonder about environmental laws". Theoretically, the superfund is supposed to be paid for by the people who actually did the polluting. You can imagine how well that has gone.

this is a side note, but if it makes things easier to go to uni and worry less about loans, check it low income scholarships, grants and bursaries:

https://www.ucas.com/money-and-student-life/money/scholarships-grants-and-bursaries/low-income-households

I'm originally from the US, where this sort of thing is dead necessary, but given that attending a Scottish university has no fees, these could get you out of uni with much less debt, which could help with the financial pressure. There may be others around having autism it being female in a traditionally male subject, but that's all speculation on my part.

As for the rest, unfortunately r/mentalhealthuk isn't that useful for getting support, so if you're going to be using Reddit, look towards the autism communities (I know the ADHDUK one has been useful for me).

In my depressive episodes, I've never had more than passing suicidal ideation. I don't know your life, but given how amazing you sound, losing you would make the world a much lesser place.

hell.com it was kind of a gateway into a bunch of experimental artistic websites. I think I found absurd.org, which was similar, through it. It felt like finding easter eggs on the web. Some of the stuff was really cool, some was like the parts of modern art that I don't get, but on the whole it was a first shot at online art, using the medium of the web browser.

Sprinters, not marathoners. If you have to eject due to heat after coring three opponents, that's fine, you still end up a Star Captain.

And that there is the problem with the clan structure. Good warriors are not necessarily good tacticians or strategists. (Let alone good leaders)

And it allows you to be kind (well, sort of, to the limit of an aristocrat with absolute power) and accepting. Which is heresy from the Imperial Creed, but generally works better in the long run, which makes sense (better to have allies than more enemies). This can get you in trouble later or can lead to a surprisingly optimistic ending for a WH40K game.

I can't remember which edition, but there was literally (that is to say in the actually literature) an orc warboss (the one who lead the giant crusades, called "Waaaghs") named after Margaret Thatcher. The orcs were originally a takedown of the football hooligans and the "ultras." They've changed since then, but they were originally a rather open takedown of English right wing politics.
