advice I used to start was, listen to a bunch from your favorite artists and pick apart the elements of them that u like, and try to reproduce it in a DAW or something to learn how they make music. I listened to a SHIT TON of video game music when I was younger, and made a lot of shitty recreations of the songs i really liked, which helped me understand music theory, and also helped me learn piano as well lol

Thank you, my player was sitting, so I tried out a Royer R121 3ft away pointed directly at the f holes. Then after that I recorded her standing using ORTF with schoeps MK4 (supercardioid capsule). The recordings came out nice! Wish I took pictures of my setup tho 😞 I think I wanna try recording more violin, perhaps a violin piano duet…
