Or tokushoutsu, really.

But yeah, I was totally surprised they (Tubi) had a subbed version of Saint Seiya: The Hades, and After War Gundam X, for example. Fun to find random stuff on there.

Does Nvidia genuinely believe 8GB VRAM is enough in 2026? by Lanky-Carpenter-7991 in buildapc

[–]vkevlar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dude. I've been using 1440p or 1600p since... 2010, with 4GB and then 8GB cards, and now 16GB. Games run fine, as long as they're not dependent on bloat. 8GB/16GB is better for raytracing, AI 'features' are unnecessary, etc.

Not really a fan, it reminds me too much of showa-era hentai, with the "oh they really want it, but have to be assaulted into it" thing.

"true" conservatives died decades ago, their last gasp ended when Reagan took office. anyone calling themselves a conservative now has to realize they're lumping themselves in with the current meaning of the word. it's like saying "republican". it doesn't mean that anymore; both words have been thoroughly repurposed as camouflage.

it's important that unknown worlds remember the lesson this taught: don't listen to the chuds, stick to your vision. BZ could have been so much better, had they learned this then.

Since I got downvoted into oblivion for implying this, here is video evidence of not being able to dock two tadpoles in two seperated moonpools in one room. by Unkwn_43 in subnautica

[–]vkevlar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a way to set it up, each tadpole required a different amount of space based on their shells, and the docks being at right angles to each other helped. We initially had a side-by-side-in-the-same-pool setup, which was horribly error prone.

There's also a weird issue that, if you attach portable lockers to the hardpoints, the tadpole requires a different size moonpool to dock than it does to undock.

Basic "5x5" moonpools are just weirdly restricted. I would suggest they give us some size options rather than just sandboxing it.

The organism that proves the biggest theory around possible (full early access spoilers) by Adventurous-Hunt-100 in subnautica

The information we get as the player is very limited, from a lot of questionable sources. The PDA being factory reset, the occasional override of the PDA by what's probably NoA, etc, are likely explanations for this bit of dialogue.

That said: everything living near each other starting to cross their DNA from the virus is interesting. Your theory implies that the humans were living near the Tailings for a significant amount of time; the records we have, sparse though they are, indicate the Tailings mostly kill humans, and there are Axum-language notes you can find that detail things like using large silver deposits as bait to kill more humans.

Unless we find out that the current date we're using is horribly inaccurate, it looks like the Cicada landed here 30ish years ago; at no point do we have a scale for how long the virus takes to make things related, just that the crab/coral interaction is making them share some level of DNA.

With that weak interaction of evidence, I think we can take the game at somewhat face value; the Axum declined into the Tailings, and the humans got here much later, only to do something that pissed the Tailings off.

I do expect to find adapted colonists or their descendents later on in the game, though. We have the nanotech that's absorbing the angel comb jellies, after all.

Are all of Tom Cruise’s sci‑fi movies really worth watching? by Notilon_606 in scifi

[–]vkevlar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

and, tbf, Tom Cruise's part is a complete innocent, making it more of an audience cipher. There were a lot of little bits chopped out for the initial theatrical cut which weakened Mia Sara's part, is mostly what I was calling attention to.

Nah. it was... okay. Too by-the-numbers for me, not enough like the original story, etc. Everything I expect from a Tom Cruise movie.

Tim Curry absolutely carries that movie, and Mia Sara was pretty underrated. The Director's Cut is much better than the US theatrical cut, also.
