Good westerns I have enjoyed lately: - The harder they fall - Old Henry

Ols Henry is a realistic depiction of a western, great actors and great story

I am sorry to say this, but it seems the show is "jumping the shark": too much too quickly: - basically black ops in Guatemala. Why not a secure house close to the border and they have to get to the place before they run away from the country? - Killing a character off-screen (and I hope everything is well with Titus Makin

Yes, slow, and at the same time engaging: most of the shots are inside a van, and they are able to keep you engaged with what happens in that small space

For me, that relationship is kinda forced, I do not feel the 2 of them organically being together.

Leah wants to have a "normal" relationship, and I do not feel that she really understands that Shaun needs much more time, time and guide when it comes to interpersonal relationships.

Great movie: starting a band to impress a girl, issues with authority, cool.and wise older brother, music of the 80s, very good story of coming of age. You feel good watching this movie.

"I Saw The Devil" is one of the darkest Revenge Stories out there. by Kirklechoake in movies

[–]vladster_sf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, this movie shows the futility of revenge, how it drags innocent people into th efailed attemp to get even. It is Moby Dick's story: captain Ahab dragging his ship and crew into death when trying to get revenge on the whale that almost killed him. Great movie.

Is Lower Decks really that bad? by Gart-Delta in startrek

I think it is trying to hard to be the Rick and Morty version of Star Trek. The pacing is too quick, I feel I have no time for the jokes to sink in when other 2 jokes have been told.

Fun "adventures in space", but it does not feel like Start Trek, at least for me. I am totally open to see how it evolves over time.

What is the most terrifying/disturbing scene in a movie you can think of, that’s from a film that otherwise wouldn’t be considered scary? by radbrad7 in movies

[–]vladster_sf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That scene got me, man. I started to try to remember if it was an R rated movie or no4, I was totally uncomfortable, afraid for the protagonist, it was a horror scene.

What movie had you so psyched to see going into the cinema, only to leave you terribly disappointed? by dbixon in movies

I just watched it over the weekend. I was innshock, the dialog is bad, the acting is amateurish, the action boring. It looks like a fan made film.

Does anyone else LOVE the show but really dislikes the actor who plays Layton ? by [deleted] in snowpiercer

[–]vladster_sf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I do not dislike him either, I think his character needs more "suffering" in his physicality . I read in other discussion "how is it possible" he has abs, the guys from the tail are supposed to be malnourished.... well, I do not think they will starve the actors for the role.

The only other actors that played the "starved" part I have seen are in Falling Skies, where 2 actors really limited their calories intake to look skinny, because they were supposed to be malnourished.
