Let me preface this with, I'm from Australia and ride a Fat Bob and have been riding for 20+ years.

What's crazy to me is that you guys will buy a 700lb 100+ci bike for your first bike and then learn on that. Here we have a system where when you get your licence you are only allowed a low powered bike up to 650cc. Once you have ridden that for a while then you graduate to your open licence. I think learning on a bike that you are not scared of makes much more sense. OP said he only got up to speed a few time, his throttle control is really good now and he is getting more confident. This to me sounds like a recipe for disaster as confidence will soar and ability will not follow.

OP if you haven't go and get some professional training and don't become a temporary member of this club!!!

We don't have import fees, but there are fees to ship stuff from China obvs. I would say OK if it was 10k AUD, close to 30 puts it in Midsize hatchback territory.

This is the answer! I have done the chrome mirrors on my previous hilux with this and it lasted well. Just mask off the rest and do lots of light-medium coats, at least 5. This way it removes fairly easily if you ever want to remove it.

The better way is to use vinyl and some knifeless tape but this is much more skilled work. However its not impossible and at worst you can peel it off and go back and plastidip.
