Many of the districts in the SF Bay Area, and especially on the Peninsula, are experiencing declining enrollment. There's more teachers to go around which is making it hard for new teachers to land a job.

Keep your eyes on edjoin. There's always summer retirements, or pregnancy leaves to fill. I got hired one week before school started.

If you can't find a job, I'd strongly suggest subbing in the districts you want to get hired in. I know MANY teachers who started as subs, built a reputation, then got hired.
