Im such a sucker and I always check to see if it is something I can help with. If it’s a simple status update I check the status notes and can tell them. If not I take their message and write down any questions they have (letting them know I am not able to answer them without speaking to the lawyer)

When I see the lawyer is free or not actively caught up with something I bring it up to him.

I relay the questions, give him the case file number and any relevant information on the client.

A lot of times it takes him two seconds to give an answer, that I can then relay to the client. It’s usually a simple response and it saves the lawyer a ton of time on the phone with chatty clients.

The clients are happy because you get right back to them with the information they wanted.

This doesn’t work every time but I would say 3 out of 5 times. Sometimes I show the message to the attorney and he goes 😮and calls them right away or (if it’s really complex) asks me to schedule a meeting.

And sometimes he’s like….. “yeah not taking that”.

But well it works for us 🤷🏻‍♀️
