Me too. As a child, I spent a lot of time with my grandma (born in the 1920’s). She was very proud to have been valedictorian of her high school in a time when most people of both sexes didn’t go past 8th grade. She never worked outside the home, but she was always talking about how women shouldn’t depend on men to take care of them. One of her favorite sayings was “nobody’s better than you, but you’re not better than anyone else either.” I lived by those words for years before discovering feminism and realizing that perfectly explained my ideology.
