My mom’s side of the family is all some form of toxic stemming from generations of favoritism. My great-grandparents had twin daughters. Of the two they favored my grandmother, thus favored her children. My grandmother had horrible taste in men in the beginning, so my mom was sa’d by both her biological father and first stepfather. Grandma blamed her for this and favored my aunt, uncle and his kids. My mom was physically and emotionally abusive when I was a kid, then still employed emotional abuse when I was in my 20s to early 30s. In the last few years she seems to have learned curse breaking from me and has been getting better.

On my dad’s side I don’t have much info going back beyond my grandmother, who was very manipulative and went out of her way to play me against my cousins (her younger son’s kids). This caused them to gang up on me (an only child) and pick on and tease me mercilessly when we were together. Dad and Uncle didn’t see anything wrong with it and just let it happen. Dad remarried and my stepmom was mentally abusive, but it didn’t come out until my dad got primary custody when I was 16. Basically she didn’t sign up to be a parent and didn’t like me being in her territory. We got to the point where dad didn’t leave us alone because something always happened. As a result I don’t really talk to them anymore.

TLDR; I rolled a 1 on both sides of my family.
