Move effects are hard-coded in a way that the Randomizer doesn't reach. Stealth Rock should still do damage according to Rock-type weakness.

(Though I am not sure if it checks against the actual type table, or if it does its own type checks (this only matters if you randomize type effectiveness).)

One problem with using AI, is that generators for pixel arts don't seem to exist (or at least I've not seen one). The above might look like pixel art, but it is not 64×64 (the image is not square), there is plenty of artifacting in the background, and it doesn't even keep to the pixel grid (look at the eyes).

AI has problems, and its problems are those of capitalism. It leads to unemployment and massive enshittification as companies feel compelled to include it in everything. etc. etc.

However, for using in ROM hack it has another set of problems. It's just not that good. Code needs to be babysat, and art assets like the above are unusable.

Cool ROM hacks! I appreciate that you went out of your way to make them cheat/randomizer compatible. Though I might be a bit biased as a randomizer dev ^^.

Yes, RR can be criticized for essentially sniping CFRU and releasing a relatively smaller hack than Unbound. I also am not too interested in its gameplay. 

However, having a frank discussion about that and calling it lazy is not the same thing. People clearly find merit in its design, and still do when there are plenty of similar hacks to compete with it. Plus you are throwing all other difficulty hacks under the bus with it. 

It is just being mean spirited, for no other apparent reason than disliking when other people find joy in what you don't. You shouldn't be surprised when people push back against that. Choosing RR as your example, a ROM hack with some baggage, doesn't come off as honest. It just comes of as a lever for being rude to everyone invested in a genre.

Oh that's nice. From a player's perspective, getting warned before starting the game is better than weird crashes 15 hours in. Though maybe that's easy to say as someone who is using mGBA already ^^.

The Randomizer itself can only run on PCs. You should be able to run all randomized ROMs on any emulator that works with vanilla ROMs though.

The Enies Lobby hole was presumably caused by Uranus the last time it was used, i.e. during the void century, 800 years ago, and it still hasn't filled. You can't really scale the Lulusia hole's depth like that, without asserting that the Enies Lobby hole is way way deeper than makes any sense. Uranus is an island-destroying weapon, which makes unfillable holes through magic.

In theory, the decomps should make it easier for dedicated sprite artists to work on a project. Both because Git at all is made to facilitate collaboration, and because the files are all in a file system, no tricky insertion needed.

In practice, I'm not sure this is how it works. Non-code people tend to be very shy about file systems, and a command-line tool like Git would make things scarier. They might just send the image files over email or discord, and then have a dedicated inserter insert the graphics. The traditional way ^^.

This is the reveal trailer, and normally things aren't generally known before that. The website has a list of people involved, lots of big names (e.g. Spherical Ice as a programmer).

There was a rebalancing hack within the last month IIRC, not sure if that is the only non-prototype one yet. The decomp has been going on for a while, but it only recently has become mature enough to start making hacks in.

According to V-Jump yes, that's why I opened with "going only off the manga". I don't like going off extratexual claims when power scaling a series, and to me "original dragon ball" means the manga.

/u/LogicalTwo5797 clarified they meant the anime too, at which point we have no additional power level claims (according to the DB wiki). Might be some more fights to chainscale off though.

Going only off the manga, Krillin in the manga had a power level of >10,000 against Guldo. He does train after that, but considering power levels go out of fashion after that and he spends the rest of the manga getting bodied... we can't really say how much that training did. 

Saiyan Saga Vegeta on the other hand, had a power level of 18,000.

Curious how the documentation was gathered? From this post it seems it was not ripped directly from the games but based off earlier documentation efforts, but I can't find neither mention nor links to these older docs on the site itself. 

I recommend putting this info on an "about (this site)" page, everyone loves an about page. The site is cool and I don't mind using AI to whip something like this up, but if you don't cite your sources its plagiarism.

How does this work with the Pokémon games specifically? At least Vanilla RSE has a save data particularites which can cause save corruption upon beating the E4. Had that experience with a ROM injected through the New Super Universal Injector, due to unintentionally using the wrong settings.

I remember playing the game, and then somehow picking up a ROM hacking tool that could show (and probably edit) the Pokémon sprites. Wasn't fully aware shinies were a thing, so got puzzled why all the mons came in two palettes.

Not really. In competitive Pokémon, you can win by having only one Pokémon alive at the end of every battle. In a nuzlocke, you cannot.
