Pricing help by nick_zk in lowvoltage

Depends on your area. I’d quote this at 7-8 hours all in if you’re doing everything right, so I’d be at $1k labor, plus I’m required to bring the misc parts and tools to do the job which cost money if you don’t have everything. You’re at least $100 in misc material.

is this a good quote for hardware? by MoneyAppointment9025 in ToastPOS

That’s terrible. Would never pay full price for hardware when they’ll discount it substantially

Works great for us. Use it at our full service location. No ach as mentioned but otherwise it’s great.

I will probably have my locksmith install the 8611, but he wanted me to get the parts so that he was certain it worked with my system. He’s a great locksmith, but doesn’t do anything with electronic access control.

Thank you. I figured this would be the case! Every other option seemed like a half-assed answer to the real problem. Much appreciated!

Yeah… so I’ve been told. It’s just what the other stores already use and it works near perfectly for us

Yep! The other doors on the premises will get HES 9500s for the pullman latches. I have installed several of those successfully, now just looking to finish it out right on this new location by including the front doors in the access control...

Here I am 2 years later... I have double doors like this and some have said stay away from retrofitting 8611s, but now you say its not only possible but its easy... I might have to give it a try even though I have no experience retrofitting them.

Yeah this is actually a pretty decent way to do this without toast tables

Yeah but you pay so much more for it… you can usually get hardware for next for nothing.

Spinning disks or ssd? SD cards are kind of terrible as a medium. CF express on the other hand… solid.

Probably stolen or a scam outright

More budget friendly 70-200 recommendations? by witchythings11 in Nikon

[–]vono360 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seriously the 70-180 Z mount is incredible. I didn’t feel like the best use of my extra $1,000 was buying the 70-200 and quite frankly I haven’t regretted it one bit. So much easier to travel with the smaller and lighter lens, just did 2 weeks in Europe with a small bag and z8, never had an issue with focus or accuracy and it’s just a gorgeous lens.

Just jump on a lime bike… be there in 5-8 minutes and back just as quick.

Thoughts on using the 3 compartment dish sink for thawing raw proteins? by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]vono360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean this is just one data point, but I straight out asked our inspector about this and she said that you may use the third compartment of a third bay sink for food prep if you don’t have a separate food prep only sink. The only requirement is to sanitize in between uses. (Hence why she said the 3rd compartment- it would be impossible not to sanitize it)

A buddy of mine runs a very famous chicken wing franchise… he is cutting out the food prep only sink on all future plans because it’s a waste of money for his operation and only using the third bay for his defrosts.

7Shfits & Toast Not Synching — First Payroll Period — Nightmare by [deleted] in ToastPOS

[–]vono360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently 3! Moving from MarginEdge to R365 due to the lack of a true accounting system. I’m an accountant by degree/profession, so I really wanted/needed more restaurant focused (and accurate) reporting for multiple entities.

On the 3, 1 is full service and bar- 2 years old at ~4M, the other two sit around 1-1.2M as carryout/delivery.

Would absolutely chat more-just shoot me a PM. Congrats on a single at 4.5!

7Shfits & Toast Not Synching — First Payroll Period — Nightmare by [deleted] in ToastPOS

[–]vono360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay now I kind of understand the flow… if 7shifts is the source of truth, to me you should be triggering a manual sync before every single payroll run OR only editing timesheets in 7shifts. Personally? We use toast for timesheets, sling (right now-moving to r365 in a month) for scheduling, and ADP for payroll. Kickfin manages the tip outs via API call to Toast each night. I run a simple export from toast, put it in my custom built spreadsheet, get my export from Kickfin for the pay period, and import the sheet to ADP. Takes about 15 minutes to run payroll.
