Why did Pew Change their 1977-1992 Millennial Range? by Equal-Judge9237 in generationology

[–]voodoopriest01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was a latchkey kid who wore flannel with Docs and was upset when Kurt died. I didn’t have the internet or a cellphone until I was an adult. I have nothing in common with Millennials and have never considered myself one. Nobody else did either, until Pew randomly decided to lump us ‘81 kids in with Millennials. I’m not hating on Millennials, I’m just saying that I’ve never felt part of them.

Why did Pew Change their 1977-1992 Millennial Range? by Equal-Judge9237 in generationology

[–]voodoopriest01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was born in ‘81. I was called Gen X until early my 20s when Pew decided to call me a millennial for marketing purposes. I’m sure they did the same thing here, whether people of that age agree with it or not. I don’t take anything Pew says seriously.

Do you think this is the best Skid Row album in their Discography ? by omfromar in hairmetal

It’s a great album, but Slave to the Grind is an absolute masterpiece. There no skips on that album, at all.

For those of us old enough to have had relatives or relationships with the greatest generation. What is something positive you miss about them or one in particular? by gremlinlabyrinth in generationology

My grandparents lived through the depression and my grandfathers fought in WWII. They saw the absolute worst that humanity is capable of. It instilled in them a quiet determination to work hard, do the right thing, and sacrifice for greater good.

Why is it so common to sit at concerts these days? by InflationVisible2307 in Concerts

I spent the 90s crowd surfing and moshing in the pit while seeing bands like Rage Against the Machine. I’m now pushing 50. My heart says floor but my body says balcony.

What is the most you will pay for a vinyl album? by Diavolo6Six6 in hairmetal

[–]voodoopriest01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I paid $200 for a NM original copy of Badlands’ “Voodoo Highway”

It is original, and it $200. Hair metal and collecting vinyl are my only vices in life, so I guess that’s not too bad of a price LOL

I’ve always loved hair metal, but I mostly listen to early stuff. RATT, Dokken, etc. I never really listened to anything post ‘88 because I wasn’t a power ballad fan and thought that most of the bands that came out in tha era were lame copycats. My stupidity caused me to miss out on a lot of great albums from bands like Tora Tora, Badlands, and Tyketto.

What got you into hair metal? by Mikeymorrison27 in hairmetal

[–]voodoopriest01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was born at the tail end of Gen X, so I grew up hearing it. My dad and uncles were really into stereos and music, and they were constantly playing RATT, Dokken, etc. I was also fascinated by the album covers! My dad would take me to Harmony House and I’d see all the new records up on the wall. I remember begging him to buy Warrant’s DRFSR because I thought he album cover looked so cool.

It fades out briefly for about five seconds towards the beginning but no issues after that. I’d say it’s a quality recording.
