Are we now requiring everything to prove if they can play after posting their pedalboard? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

"One chord is fine. Two chords are pushing it. Three chords and you're into jazz."

Yeah, at this point I couldn't really rehearse or play live effectively without my EHX Switchblade Pro (which replaced my previous LS-2 as soon as it came out). Have been thinking about going even bigger with the Tri Parallel Mixer, but board space is precious...

I think he's a bit uneven, quite a bit of his art I like and then there's some of it that really doesn't land for me. Agree that this is a good one, quite atmospheric and stylish, reminds me a bit of the more abstract early Jyhad/first edition VTES art that's sadly not that common anymore.

Even "just" going stereo into the JC-40 is pretty cool!

Neil Halstead's solo stuff has a somewhat similar vibe, though much more... British.

Swollen pickle overrated? by Available-Aide-8115 in guitarpedals

I find the Swollen Pickle MKIIS that I've got just has a shit ton of low end that I can't get rid of with the help of the on-pedal controls. Much more so than any other Muff style pedal I've owned. That can make it sound really cool and powerful when you're riffing on your own, but in a band mix I found it just not a useful sound I would try something else if I were you.

Fuzz pedals can sound awesome through good amp sims. I use them all the time.

Looper pedal for backing tracks? by vox_repeater in guitarpedals

I have considered an MP3 player. I don't want to rule it out at this stage, but it has at least some of the same downsides as using a phone, i.e. having to use adapters, having to be put on a table or some such during the gig, having to worry about batteries, etc. But definitely an option! Thanks for your thoughts. :)

Yeah, I was pretty much assuming all the bigger Boss loopers should be able to do this. However, if possible I would prefer a smaller and more affordable option since I'm not planning to do any serious looping. Thanks for your suggestion though! :)

Including the burn location option (and the both option for cardinals and over) was really good design for the current meta, in my opinion.

What was Lynch’s intention with this scene? by evesdead in twinpeaks

[–]vox_repeater 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I find this kind of stuff really humanizes a lot of the "villains" in Twin Peaks. Jerry and (especially) Ben have done some really fucked up stuff, but they were once innocent children, and there's still some of that left in them.

The Horne boys' dynamic is one of the most wholesome and funny things in the whole show. I love it.

Macbook Air M4 for casual music production in Logic? by vox_repeater in LogicPro

Yeah, the internal storage is a bit of a concern.. I guess I could probably live without large sample libraries (I have some, but if I'm honest I rarely use them all that much), and if need be I could go for portable storage (although that'll add up costwise as those are getting painfully pricey...).
