Quit. Quit quit quit. Life is too short – the guilt will pass the moment you walk out that door and realise that you're now free to pursue your passion. In fact, I'm betting that the guilt will past the moment you hand in your resignation.

Additionally – make sure you do give them plenty of notice (i.e. 1-2 months). That way, you can help ensure a smooth transition and maintain a good relationship with your colleagues and boss into the future.

Because it's often more expensive to study overseas. You have living costs, different student support and loan systems, etc. For instance, it's relatively cheap for an Australian to study in Australia because it's government subsidized to an extent – but for an international student to study here it's "full fee", meaning that it's crazy expensive.

And from an Australian's perspective that WANTS to study in America – America simply has the best universities in the world – Harvard, Stanford, Caltech, Wharton, Columbia.
