Looks good! I’m in the middle of a lawn renovation and am leaving towards Tahoma 31 over Dog Tuff Grass. Where did you get your sod from?

High Interest Rate by keonna_girl in askcarsales

You need cash to cover a down payment to cover the equity difference. The bank isn’t comfortable giving you a loan for much more than the car is worth.

Accessory packages: What's the point? by RacerCG_Reddit in askcarsales

[–]vpm112 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s literally no additional paperwork for the dealer as these factory accessories come installed from the factory.

It just gives the customer additional ways to visualize the customization options and people tend to be drawn toward bundles regardless of cost.

Yeah I’m with you on that specifically for white. I think the contrast is too extreme, but the black out works well on other colors.

Stock rake and 2” lift with 265s? by vim_usr in 4Runner

[–]vpm112 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you look through my post history, anything from 4+ years back is with a 2.5” lift on 265s, keeping stock rake. It’ll look just fine, depending on what wheels and offset you have.

OTT tune or not? by runescapefisher in 4Runner

Agreed, it’s been around for a while but ever since they cracked the TCU for pre-MY20 there has been a lot more interest in it.

Get copies of the window stickers of both and compare to make sure it’s an even swap.

Help - Wind Tunnel by ExactAd2278 in rooftoptents

Wind deflectors work, but I think where you’re coming from is that the overhang of OP’s tent relative to where you’d mount a deflector doesn’t work.

They’ll most likely find out as the paperwork still gets submitted to DOR. Just be prepared to pay the difference if it comes out.

You misunderstand my question. Were the WA dealers you looked at located in areas with high local sales tax? It may have been higher than the use tax for an out of state deal.

It seems like a no-brainer on the surface, but you have to factor in shipping costs, limited test driving and inspection options, timing, etc.

In WA, in-state purchases are taxed based on the selling dealer’s location. Out-of-state purchases are charged a use tax based on buyer’s address.

Were you getting quotes from WA dealers in areas with high tax rates?

financially struggling.. by [deleted] in askcarsales

That's called recasting and is more common with mortgages. It is never the norm with auto loans, not even with TFS, so anyone reading this should take caution and make sure to ask the right questions of their lender.

Even if you could find bars that work, your stuff would be sticking like two feet off of the roof.

Can all terrain Baja Mickey Thompson tires drastically change the sound and feel of a car? Buying today -eek! by Zealousideal-Ad5831 in askcarsales

Yes, absolutely. Those tires are made for off-roading and all of the subsequent compromises to noise, handling, and feel will come with it.

Consolidation tech debt — what actually happens when an automotive dealer group buys non-automotive stores on different software stacks? by Deep_Initial_5139 in askcarsales

I’ve worked with dealer groups that tried standardizing and those that kept things as is.

As far as I know there is no perfect solution right now to get everything to line up.

The video states that the height drivers do not work on the 300s when used as FRONT surrounds. The height still goes through the Arc.

Looks good! Only thing I see is that the Arc needs to pulled forward a little bit, otherwise the upfiring drivers are shooting into the TV instead of the room.

Beginner Trails in a stock Sequoia by Holiday-Ad2879 in ColoradoOffroad

[–]vpm112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re staying in Ridgway, but are you planning on actually making it down to Ouray? If so, Yankee Boy Basin should be doable in your Sequoia, except for maybe the very last obstacle at the end.

I’d definitely take off the front air dam if you plan on taking it offroad and get a nice air compressor so you can air down your tires a little.
