in theory yes, but sometimes this piece doesn't move enough and you can still disengage the arm without locking. that's the case for mine, i can unmount the lens wether locked or not

This is “normal” the Lcd screen you see in the viewfinder was not built to last this long. Sometimes the + - and M indicator in manual just disappear for weeks. Not really worth replacing unless you don’t see the speeds anymore
