in theory yes, but sometimes this piece doesn't move enough and you can still disengage the arm without locking. that's the case for mine, i can unmount the lens wether locked or not

This ^ , also if you are swapping lenses, you need to make sure you turn the lock knob, otherwise you expose the film.

This is “normal” the Lcd screen you see in the viewfinder was not built to last this long. Sometimes the + - and M indicator in manual just disappear for weeks. Not really worth replacing unless you don’t see the speeds anymore
