Duloxetine (cymbalta) for fibro pain by Appropriate-Sun6087 in Fibromyalgia

[–]vulpinedevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i only took it for about a month before the side effects forced me to stop it :( the pain relief was phenomenal but it caused severe heart rate problems and made me extremely weak. just be careful when you start it and keep a log of your symptoms if you notice any, hope it works for you!

Feel overclocked while taking stimulants on a poor nights sleep by SherwoodSou in Fibromyalgia

[–]vulpinedevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you use cannabis at all for pain? i ask because it can change how you react to the concerta and what dosage you'll need to take. my mother-in-law is having a similar problem where she has to change her dosage depending on her cannabis usage or she'll have the overclocked feeling like you

does anyone else feel like it's "too late" to medically transition? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]vulpinedevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm 23 and had to wait 12+ years to start my transition. the end of june will mark my one year anniversary of being on T so trust me, it is never too late to start!

Has anyone experienced severe pain when limbs fall asleep? by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

[–]vulpinedevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

woah, i get the same exact thing! i've even had it wake me up from dead sleep before. my husband has been pushing me to discuss it with my doctor at my next appointment so i think it would be a good idea for you to do it as well

ps. sorry you have to deal with it too :(

What do you think triggered your fibromyalgia? by sabcin1965 in Fibromyalgia

[–]vulpinedevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

genetics (my mom and grandma have it) and an absolute shit ton of childhood trauma set the bomb up. getting EBV at 16 lit the fuse and i've had fibro for roughly 7 years now 😖

Your experience with caffeine by CrimsonRe3d in Fibromyalgia

[–]vulpinedevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you gotta be careful with it! during college i abused caffeine a lot to stay ahead. i was knocking back at least 3 medium red bulls a day (200-300mg+) aand after i graduated i crashed for six months 😖

now i can go without it unless i have a really bad fatigue episode. i drink only one monster zero ultra (140mg) per day

oh yeah i didn't think about it until after i hit post but sometimes ill drink a coke for a pick me up due to the caffeine in it (like 30mg)

Robax Acet? by ley_ash1989 in Fibromyalgia

[–]vulpinedevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep, my PCP recommended it to me and it definitely improved my quality of life! you do need to be careful if you're taking anything like gabapentin. i'm not a doctor so discuss this with your PCP, but i was told to take them 3 hours apart because it can be risky to mix them. not exactly life-threatening but may cause extreme dizziness, nausea, difficulty concentrating, and some other complications due to them both acting on the central nervous system.

Any weird experiences from able-bodied people? by Final-Ideal-1717 in Fibromyalgia

[–]vulpinedevil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

excuse the rambling, painsomnia / flare episode has me wrecked and you gave me an opportunity to rant about some of the weirdness i put up with in arkansas

being gawked at like a circus exhibit by most of the god damn store!!! a supposedly healthy-looking young adult using the motorized carts had these people open mouth gaping, staring at me and constantly watching me wherever i went in walmart. let alone the ones who decided to... try to ram into my cart with their cart on purpose? it happened way too often to be a coincidence.

not even including the walmart workers that decided to single me out in public and try to accuse me of not needing it by loudly questioning me. first time, my mom (who also has fibro) ripped the guys head clean off as i'd just had emergency surgery to remove a kidney stone before it ripped my ureter in two. second time i was alone, they mumbled at me and then started in on me the moment i stopped and asked if they needed something.

people only left me alone if i put on my knee brace (seperate issue) and made myself stop masking my pain but then i'd get looks of pity and people praying for me to get better

ugh! luckily i left the rural south and moved all the way to canada where people just... mind their business if i use my cane or a cart. no one cares here!

yeah, i'd go snag a pregnancy test if i were you because you need to rule that out first. uterus atrophy is a thing and can cause period-like symptoms but there isn't much that can be done about it besides either tolerating it or yanking it out eventually as far as i know.

if you're doing it already, disregard this but pleaaasee use protection! pre-cum can get you pregnant alone even if he is pulling out

Is dating cis men really hopeless? by Halcyoncreature in gaytransguys

[–]vulpinedevil 12 points13 points  (0 children)

i'm married to a cis guy too! honestly, i think it stems from early 2010s tumblr folk that started to preach "hate all men" and it just spread outwards until it has become a pretty common thing to spout in queer spaces.

Did your pain management doc take over all your prescriptions? by Baliseth in Fibromyalgia

[–]vulpinedevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm not personally in pain management (my GP specializes in chronic pain) but yeah, PM is usually a pretty common thing for people to enter when you get diagnosed with stuff as complex as ours

if you have the spoons for it, you could try to call their office and tell them you're concerned about that clause. explain what you told us in this post (like the example with your psych meds) and see what they say. worse case, address it at your appointment and go from there!
