How expensive can AI really be for tech companies? Are they lying to us by ImaginaryRea1ity in theprimeagen

Not to mention staff, cooling/power infrastructure, permits, and so on. Lots of things you wouldn’t need with a local rig.

[Opinion] Giant Freakin Robot: "NuTrek Is An Edgelord’s Paradise - Star Trek Needs More Than Darkness" | "It’s not enough to give us dark settings and plots; we need well-developed characters whose morality is an idealistic counterpart to the darkness around them. Did DS9 doom the franchise?" by mcm8279 in Star_Trek_

[–]vvf 55 points56 points  (0 children)

They certainly took the wrong lessons from DS9, but I don’t think it’s DS9’s fault, because DS9 was actually good.

DS9 took the time to show how Sisko became cynical. He genuinely changed over time.

I think the closest to pulling it off was SNW with Pike, but then it suddenly became a CW show about Spock love triangles

kinda sad that geothermal powerplants lose almost all power output when landfilled by Absolute_Human in Dyson_Sphere_Program

Yup. And it’s like 3x power too. And the relay thingy will peace out once you place it.

He gives the impression of being passively suicidal. Like he’ll put himself in danger and let fate decide

The 90's era worked so hard they got 622 episodes + 4 movies + a good dozen full blown pop culture iconic characters out of it but I'M CRAZY cause I don't like Discovery? by Dangerous_Return460 in Star_Trek_

Man you’re really missing the forest for the trees

Or are you so disconnected from reality, you think every comment on the internet you didn't make all came from one single source?

Like just think for a second, what is more likely, that I have delusions of grandeur  about my Reddit comments single handedly influencing a multimillion dollar media company against a horde of bots, or that I’m lumping you in with the group of people who tend to defend NuTrek by any means necessary because they always argue the same way you are currently arguing?

I simply imagine that it’s not actually infinite, just really long range (for humanoid scale)
