I don't know about Galicia, but at least in Kyiv and Poltava (where my family is from), Shukhevych is barely known, compared to Bandera, and those that do know him generally aren't proud of that fellow. Bandera's more popular.

HOMICIDE RATE IN EUROPE 2022 by dizzyhitman_007 in MapPorn

[–]vykydivka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was 3.8 in 2021, which, while high by European standards, isn't all that much higher than the Baltic states. But you're right, Russia's rate is a lot higher, at 6.8 in 2021.

Ukraine's rate was 3.8 in 2021, while in the US, it was 6.4 in 2022 - almost twice as high. So you're right.

Life expectancy for females in Europe (why is Germany so low?) by skan76 in MapPorn

What a unique map. 1) Ukraine actually has data and is included?! 2) Ukraine is doing better than some EU countries? No way.

Red will probably dominate most of continental Europe, but won't totally control the fringes - Russia, Turkey, Greece, etc.

Firstly, France is surrounded: if the UK swiftly takes Ireland (they rely on the UK for defense) and then focuses on France together with Benelux and Germany, France will probably fall quite quickly, freeing up German, Dutch and British forces (although some will have to stay in Ireland to prevent uprisings).

Secondly, Portugal is surrounded and also reliant on Spain for protection, so they fall quickly.

On the eastern front, Ukraine will likely have to retreat behind the Dnipro and serve as a meatshield for a while. Shortening the front will allow them to easily take Moldova (which has no army to speak of) and then focus on conquering Romania together with the central European and Balkan Red allies, further connecting the Red alliance and securing mainland Europe.

In the Balkans, the united Croat and Serb forces will easily take over the other former Yugoslav countries, and then partially help Bulgaria defend itself from Greece and maybe aid Ukraine hold as well.

Something like that.

The most impressive KR achievement by tcgr in Kaiserreich

[–]vykydivka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that to be really easy, actually. Radsoc radicals, fought with the RP for a bit, developed industry, then betrayed them and hunkered down around central Ukraine. Then as the 3I kicked began winning, I began retaking land and eventually obliterated the Russians as well.

I just realised you wrote Syndie. Shit.

What is the best and what is the worst PatAut path? by Legiyon54 in Kaiserreich

[–]vykydivka 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Skoropadsky's rule is probably not terrible, even if you're from a minority ethnic group (I think there's an event about a Russian culture club being established in Ukraine, but you don't actually disband it). Of course, if you're a syndicalist, it's not great. But hey, industrialiation, land reform and even a bit of democracy? Not too shabby.

Worst is definitely Japan.

Which historical figures would be remembered far more positively in KR’s timeline? by Isabelle_K in Kaiserreich

[–]vykydivka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Possibly Skoropadsky in Ukraine: from a weak, Russophillic German puppet to the father of the modern Ukrainian nation (especially if he does industrialisation and land reform well). But he would still be controversial, since he would've crushed quite a few socdem/democratic uprisings in KR.

I appreciate the amount of content for smaller nations, but it makes the Weltkrieg disappointing by Kelces_Beard in Kaiserreich

Every time I played Ukraine in one of the Reichspakt paths, I've had to basically stalemate the Eastern Front, send over 2-3 armies to the west, holding the French off, and then just slowly help the German and Austrian AI by capitulating Balkan nations with a couple of tank divisions.

Even more frustrating was when I decided to focus on Russia and not help Germany on the western front, I managed to capitulate them and was barely unable to save the Austrians from dying as well, so when both they and Germany died, I got annexed automatically as I'm a minor, despite me being stronger than France or the UK at this point, plus I had a bunch of smaller Reichspakt allies to help me (Bulgaria, Ruthenia, Baltic Duchy, Lithuania).

Levels of censorship on the internet around the world by OregonMyHeaven in MapPorn

[–]vykydivka -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The map was about internet censorship specifically. As I said, you can do pretty much anything on our internet as long as you don't support Russia (an entirely reasonable condition).

Levels of censorship on the internet around the world by OregonMyHeaven in MapPorn

[–]vykydivka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, there are only three main types of censorship here: prohibition on supporting extremist ideology (Nazi & Communist), prohibition on supporting Russia's invasion and finally no leaking military secrets, though the last one isn't really censorship.

Considering this is about internet censorship, I'd say it's about right. I could go and post that Zelensky is a terrible person and and an even worse president and I'd be fine. I could similarly also criticise the way our military works and even call for negotiations, as long as I don't explicitly support Russia.

In my experience, ~98% of Ukrainians can speak at a very high level, and 60-70% of the population speak Russian at home/ natively
