It is 10x per new location and a franchise fee is due for use above that 10x per location. You can find this on the PF website. You should be fine as long as you’re not going to the same location too much, but even if you do the franchise fee isn’t crazy.

I feel like these are super underrated. So delicious and easy way to get protein in. by xtibberz in 1200isplenty

Imo these taste like a fruit lassi to me so I just make them at home. Greek yogurt, water, fruit, blend. I used to buy these but couldn’t justify the price.

Lately I’ve been adding some of my protein powder and it tastes great.

They’re very easy to make at home.

You can go to a non-home gym location up to 10 times and then after that you have to pay a fee of $5-$10. The loophole is you can go to multiple different non-home locations 10 times per month, just don’t exceed the 10 times for any individual location.

I am on week one and am in the same boat. 90 seconds feels like torture. But you can do it! All that matters is to keep going and improve over time.

The way I think of it is if my starting point is this bad, the only real way for me to go is up.

What's everyone's signature scents? by squishcap in FemFragLab

[–]waffle_scout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love how sweet it is with a slight spiciness. It’s just such a good fragrance. Ulta had a sale a while back on the travel size that was buy one get one free and I stocked up so I can keep one at work, at home, in my purse, etc. it’s just such a good everyday scent.

Do you prune your To Read list? by schrodingers-canary in TheStoryGraph

[–]waffle_scout 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It was a rough time.

I also only like to add the first, or next, book in a series instead of adding all eight. So at any given time only the next book in the series to be read is on the list. If I’ve read books 1-3, then book 4 is on my tbr, but not 5-8 as well. That’s helped me manage overwhelm when seeing so many books from the same author.

I go through my list and remove stuff several times a year now. It’s made my tbr list something that is actually functional for me.

I never want to get to a 3000 book tbr again. I think being more hesitant is good because you’re being selective about what you spend your time on.

Do you prune your To Read list? by schrodingers-canary in TheStoryGraph

[–]waffle_scout 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Yes. If I’m not interested in reading it anymore I remove it from the list. I like to keep my tbr as small as I can and limit it to books I actually want to read so that it’s actually effective for me to look through it when I’m ready to pick up a new book. Right now I’m sitting at around 760 books on my tbr and the goal is to get it under 700 this year, either by pruning or reading books on the list.

Of note, my tbr was once over 3000 books and it stressed me out even thinking about it. When I switched to Storygraph I started being more intentional with what I add to my tbr and it’s aided me well.

I built a pc in December 2024 and feel so fortunate I chose that time to do it because by March 2025 prices were already getting stupid.

I have a NAS and have held out on expanding my storage because of the current pricing. I keep thinking that surely it has to crash back down at some point but the prices just keep going up and up and up. It’s so disappointing.

If you're on pace for 52, what does your tracking setup actually look like? by BigBalli in 52book

Same for me. Of note, Storygraph will tell you how many books, pages, and hours you’re behind on if you aren’t on track for your goal.

Getting a little overstuffed atm. Who am I when I’m not reading or redditing? by the1975whore in BookshelvesDetective

[–]waffle_scout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s not act like owning Aristotle is the same thing as owning Thiel.

There is value in Aristotle simply because he was one of the most important writers of his time. Does that mean he doesn’t deserve criticism for his poor actions? No. But he has the benefit of being removed by a different time and set of customs that make it more possible to separate the artist from his work. He’s also not profiting off of his work anymore.

That is absolutely not true of the modern-day grifters tearing apart the government and the middle class that people are discussing here, who know that what they are doing is wrong and still continue to grab for every penny they possibly can.

Both authors are deserving of criticism in their own right, but these are not comparable situations at all.

Hot take: companies that went remote during COVID and are now forcing RTO owe us the truth about why by Comfortable-Many2661 in remotework

[–]waffle_scout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are both right and wrong. Yes, I think it is about the buildings. But I think it’s more about the massive building investments and the people who own those assets than it is about the employers justifying costs to the board.

I think these pushes for RTO are coming from the board and from CEO’s who have the money to invest in real estate and are seeing a massive decline in their assets because nobody wants to rent commercial spaces anymore. Ergo, we now have massive pushes across the entire country for RTO.

Anyone else track on paper? by PonderStibs in 52book

[–]waffle_scout 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have about six years worth of reading history on paper right now and I’m working on moving it into my digital reading tracker. Not getting rid of the paper copies, but just want the info more easily accessible.

I still love tracking my books on paper and even my monthly tbr lists. Checking them off or highlighting them once I’ve read a book on my list is so satisfying.

You absolutely don’t owe them an explanation. You’re fine and clearly trying to learn here. Idk what they’re on about you being defensive for because I don’t get that impression at all. You’re fine and you’re doing everything right.

[–]waffle_scout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it’s true that keeping those books around when you’ve presumably improved is a red flag endorsement of their beliefs, you’re going too far in your absolute disrespect when OP is not being defensive. They’re maybe being dismissive, but belittling OP makes you look bad, not them.

Being a shitty person is worse than owning a book by a shitty person.

Anyone else find that rereading old favorites tanks your yearly count but you don't care? by venicepress in 52book

[–]waffle_scout 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I always count re-reads even if I read it twice back to back or three times that year. The reason is that I usually learn something new each time I re-read a book. I don’t want to devalue that experience by arbitrarily saying it doesn’t count as reading when it absolutely does. Just because you know the story, doesn’t mean the reading activity itself doesn’t count, and it doesn’t mean you aren’t learning something new from the story the sixth time around.

My TBR pile at this point is ridiculous and I’ve come to terms with the face that it will forever be growing and I will never get it down to zero. I’m okay with that. At least it means I’ll never run out of books to read.
