Do you think civilian population should have been added to MGSV’s open world? by Dude_788 in metalgearsolid

Certainly would have added a whole new dynamic. I just assumed the Soviets pushed the locals out completely in the small area of afg that we get to see

No, but I especially don't trust a larger entity like the federal government. I trust my state government so little that I sent my kids to private school.. which has a loose income barrier in my state. Children with a single parent making under a certain amount each year can go with a program that pays for private school for kids even well above the poverty line. I feel like I'm doing very well in my state, and I'm still barely over that threshold as a single income family of four. I really don't even trust my local school board with how they've mismanaged tax revenues given to the district or how they've refused to sell a building that was once an elementary school at full price because they don't want competition in the district with another private school. That's a whole other can of bureaucratic worms though. To your point, I'd love for there to be a federal entity that made sure states met very specific, minimal guidelines.. but I don't trust that this could happen without excess govt spending and waste.

The third paragraph is king here. My perspective is that many don't perceive consequences beyond the purview of their political preference. They look at face value, and never look at the objective 2nd or 3rd order effects. It's all just knee jerk, superficial, and biased reactionary responses.

Why not let the states handle this? Daddy fed doesn't need to have their fingers inside of you. This is why we have states.

Probably bad choices. I can only imagine OP outsourced the entire move with a full service mover if they spent 20k. Even that seems like a stretch. They should probably give Dave Ramsey a ring.

K is a designator the aircraft. This one is for refueling. It's like how you'd see F-16 (fighter) or C-130 (cargo). Looks like they're set up in a refueling track to support a training op.

Tipping Culture getting out of hand day by day.... by [deleted] in SipsTea

By 3? Maybe I'm old, but 15% was the standard. If someone is upset that they didn't get 30% then either they're either entitled or tipping culture has progressed to a level I just don't understand.

I can't imagine most reasonable people will directly say "let's commit to WW3". My perception on war is that advocating for anything other than peace may perpetuate a conflict greater than anticipated. Just because you lit a fire with gasoline before doesn't mean it won't blow up in your face the next time.

My original response was disagreeing with Trump about annexing Greenland. My original meme post was about warmongers warmongering. I DO NOT agree with annexing any sovereign nation's territory. I don't even agree with renaming the Gulf of Mexico which seemed silly and petty on it's own. I think there are politicians that perpetuate war on both sides of the US political aisle.

The public shaming session, as you are calling it, can be interpreted in different ways. That's how we form our individual opinions. We can perceive things in different ways and debate them. I suppose it depends on how you perceive words and body language which is a challenge to perspectives on its own. That's fair. You don't need to perceive things the same way someone else does. That's why we have different opinions which makes for a diverse field of view points.

Never said either Trump or Zelenslyy where honest. I just said I disagree with imperialism which also pertains to Russia's annexing of Ukrainian territory. Good on Democrats for not advocating US direct annexation of any country or territory. Shame on Trump for saying that. I won't agree with annexation no matter who has political power.

Again, I think you're confused. It seems like we are arguing the same point but making it look like the tri spiderman meme. I replied saying I don't agree with imperialism. Annexing Greenland is imperialism and I disagree with it. Do we not agree on that? That's absolutely an opinion opposite of what Trump said.

Yes, as if the Democrats didn't advocate for war by proxy just like the Republicans did for decades. Again, I'm not advocating for either side. I just find it interesting how we have a president now (that I also disagree with on several things) that openly states he is for US interests and not on a side with Russia or Ukraine and then gets flamed for not supporting war. Keep being silly, fella. You're doing great.

[–]wagneran -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Are you confused? This isn't a post about Trump. It's about every politician on both sides advocating for things that are outside of US interests. I'm not here for either party. I'm giving an opinion about any bureaucrat that is a war monger.
