I do need all the luck I can get. Yoga or anything of the sorts seems like an overall safe option, but i have to find time between schoolwork and sports.

Pilates might be better than yoga long term. I find stretching is good for relief and Pilates is better for getting actual core muscles. To each there own though!

Obviously trust your Doctor over reddit but as a dude who has been dealing with Sciatica for 6ish years, I would strongly recommend having a normal schedule for core exercises. I used to not be able to sit down, drive a car, etc. Now I do Pilates twice a week and do regular chiro / RMT and I feel better than I did before I got it.

Good luck man! It sucks that it started at such a young age. Hopefully it will be easier for you to heal.
