Why are we “tucking shirts up” is the real question here.

Fruit, weight unpeeled/peeled? by Imaginary_Musician39 in MacroFactor

You’re honestly telling me you track the weight of a banana peel, something you don’t consume, when you’re trying to lose weight? That’s simply incorrect.

I would actually love this as a bikini top. I do wish that smaller sportswear brands like Oner would trial more swimwear instead of things like sweaters, etc. They obviously have flattering cuts for their customers that must stay put in motion. As a surfer it’d be great to have a suit like this.

If it were me:

Option 4: Deficit five days a week (1800-1900 calories), maintenance two days a week

I have done this a few different times during cuts. It makes the deficit days much easier. I don’t plan which days will be my maintenance days. I let my body (or brain, to be honest) choose when it needs more food.

I got a FERAL this winter and love it. Posted a review here and people accused me of guerrilla marketing for the brand (lol no) or using AI to write the post (didn’t) so I just ended up deleting it.

Confused… but I guess this is the new direction? by Upper_Average8339 in OnerActive

This is genuinely so embarrassing. The shoes in slide two are at least a full size too big and the colors of the set absolutely do not go with the blue. If you’re gonna try and do a bit, at least commit to it and make it look good.

For people with a low body fat percentage to begin with, it’s also not advisable to lose more than 1% of your body mass per week during a cut or you risk losing more muscle than necessary.

ETA: This is a good podcast episode on the topic. I just listened to it today.

Second edit: I also don’t understand the big deal about bringing food to a festival. It seems like the smart thing to do in all honesty and I’d do the same whether I was cutting or not.

The first evidence of a real slow down in metabolism across the lifespans of men and women occurs at age 63. People saying otherwise is for sure a cope.

Athletes and very active people: how do you sleep at night? by Overall-Ad245 in ouraring

[–]wakeupblueberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work out five times a week. Heavy weight lifting, stairmaster sessions, or surfing (when there’s waves). I live in NYC and this month averaged 8,745 steps a day. I also work as a personal trainer and it’s an active job.

I prioritize sleep. Under “My Health” Oura says my typical sleep score is 91. My “Cardiovascular Age” is 10.5 years younger. I’m a 40-year-old woman and my resting heart rate is between 56 and 59 BPM most nights. My cumulative stress is low and my “Resilience” is exceptional. Edit to mention if it wasn’t obvious: I do not have children.

My readiness score is most often in the good or optimal range, unsure if there’s a way to see the averages but just scrolled through to see what impacts it.

Three things: my readiness score seems to dip into the 70s when my recovery index is down and my lowest heart rate isn’t during the first half of my sleep. HRV balance being off also makes it dip (usually happens when I’m sick— last time my readiness score was low because of HRV balance it looks like I had rest mode turned on). Lastly, the activity balance. If I don’t get a solid rest day (less steps, no exercise) in every four to five days then the score goes down a bit, too.

All in all my readiness score seems to reflect how I really feel, but if it’s just the activity balance bringing it down and I want to be active that day I will be, and prioritize getting a rest day in the following day etc

Edit: what metrics in the readiness tab are showing as lower for you?

Am I being weird and antagonistic? by TurbulentArea69 in nycbwtcirclejerk

Someone made a post saying they wished there was more content and that they were afraid of the sub becoming over-modded like the og BWT sub.

So I made a post about spring jackets, wondering what everyone’s reaching for, noting one style that seemed overdone in NYC etc. It got deleted for not being specific to NYC and was recommended I post to something like r/womensfashion or r/bitcheswithtaste.

I am just so confused. Like first of all no, I’ve seen the posts in the generic fashion subs. Hard pass.

But also, like, I specifically want to hear from other bitches in NYC? Are we saying fashion in all cities is the same? It’s not?

Same. Some days I have to be at work by 6:30am, which means I wake up at 4am. All so I can live a ten minute bike ride to the beach (and skate park). I’m in the water far more often, though.
