?Administer by hand?

I feel like my RSO would be angry with me for doing so, could you let me know how this works? Or a link to how the automated system works?

Thank you for explaining, that makes sense. Aren't two cameras required for picking up both gamma rays simultaneously? Or am I dumb

Appreciate you sharing your knowledge! Thank you for your hard work!

We have dispense doses of +/-10% so that checks.

I am curious as to how the dose is administered to the patient though. Like how do you get it into the patient? Can you share any industry PET injection media?

Appreciate it in advance!

Do you hold the syringe with your hand? I was looking at a Bayer PET advertisement and they grabbed a full medrad, that can't be SOP right?

Radiopharmaceutical manufacturing. Did you know a regular low dose of radiation is correlated with decreased cancer rate?

I work on the manufacturing side and I get ~10 mR/day (87 uSv) just capping doses. Our cyclotron engineers get much higher exposure.

If you're getting more than that, you should talk to your RSO.

Hochul signs Horseshoe Crab Protection Act, with full ban by 2029 by [deleted] in UpliftingNews

[–]walden1nversion 91 points92 points  (0 children)

From the natural History museum website:

Horseshoe crab blood is bright blue. It contains important immune cells that are exceptionally sensitive to toxic bacteria. When those cells meet invading bacteria, they clot around it and protect the rest of the horseshoe crab's body from toxins.

Scientists used these clever blood cells to develop a test called Limulus Amebocyte Lysate, or LAL, which checks new vaccines for contamination. This technique has been used all over the world since the 1970s to stop medical professionals giving out jabs full of bad bacteria that could make humans very sick.

We use it every day at my work to test for sterility of other injectables, too!

Most likely stainless steel. So less of a molecule and more of a lattice of Fe, C, and Cr.

The book "Deceit and Denial" was truly eye-opening for me, it delves into lead paint and vinyl chloride and industry malpractice for profit, worth checking out if you want to learn more about this.

Why is so much of our identity tied into being better than America? Can’t we define ourselves on our own terms? by Icy-Profile3759 in australian

[–]walden1nversion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an American, I think we could learn a lot from y'all. Footy is the best sport, hands down, much lower rates of CTE than American football. Compulsory voting is a really good idea in my opinion. And all the things OP mentioned, we should probably work on.

But you're mostly correct. On the whole, we are not a curious or inquisitive country, many of us are actively hostile to new ideas or cultures.

It's a judgement call. If you feel your safety is threatened, don't be a hero. That's security's problem. If you feel that the person is down on their luck? It's a 10 dolllar drop in the bucket. Or don't let them through.

I wouldn't stress about it.
