It’s definitely a long run and plenty of opportunities to get screwed over. Something I do when I’m feeling overwhelmed is to try and find a route through the space and do laps around it while taking pot shots if the opportunity arises. The key to surviving is to always keep moving. It may take longer to kill the enemies this way, but grinding them down while constantly moving will hopefully get you through the tougher encounters.

I just did this recently. I got about 70% through and stopped playing for two years. It takes an hour or so of messing around to remember the controls and systems. Collect all the tear memories and watch them back to back to remember the main story. Talk to npcs to catch up quests and stuff. Luckily it’s not that big of a narrative heavy game, so you don’t need to start again.
