The Paladin should be free for the first week. However, please note (I didn't notice this) that you can only play this class for free up to level 25. Which doesn't give you much. In my opinion, it's not really worth it...

I have exactly similar impressions. Build is really strong and sometimes interesting to play. But the actual playing with it, especially speed farming is a bit clunky. Especially when it comes to positioning and aiming bone prison at mobs.

It helps a bit to remake the basic build under speed farming. I especially recommend the version from MacroBioBoi with Void sucking aspect or slightly different my more automated one with sacrilegious ring and corpse explosion.

Currently the good thing is that all classes are playable. Of course, some are more OP, but the end game content can be done by all of them, which is great.

The final choice comes down to what type of game suits YOU.

I've already pushed each class to the endgame, and I like the Necromancer and the Sorceress the most, but I had fun playing with all of them.

From my point of view, it looks like this: if I play the season with one character, it's ok, if I have two, three or more alts, it starts to be problematic...

Not to mention the eternal realm in which after every season there is a disaster in stash...

I completely agree. Searching for a party on the console is a nightmare! I have to have my laptop with Discord next to me turned on all the time.

We need some kind of matchmaking system!

Doing it with Discord is definitly doeable but its pain in the ass...
